1973 Ruger Single Six or 2019 Heritage RR

OP says that the
"1973 Ruger Single Six" he is looking at is "well worn but still tight".

Think about that for a minute... Over 45 years old and still tight. Probably has another 30 or 40 left in it.

I think that old Ruger does a pretty good job of selling itself.

I have a friend that has one that is about 30 years old. Beautiful gun. Yep, that gun had been sitting a long time. He said he doubted he had shot it more than 5 times. He wanted to trade me that gun for a Ruger LCP. As much as I wanted to make that trade, I just could not bring myself to make the deal. Sold him the LCP for a $100 and a box of Tula ammo instead. I probably should have traded him. Heck, he never shoots it. I do hope that gun goes to a good home some day.
Kind of like a guy that has a top hunting dog and never takes it hunting. Drives me crazy every time.

I did tell him that he needs to train with the Little LCP. Three years later, I asked him how well the gun shot and he told me he had not shot it yet. I am sure there are a few million good deals out there. Just gotta seek them out. Maybe just ask anyone one you know if they have a old gun they want to sell. Never know until you ask.

I can either buy a well worn but still tight single six or a new HRR. I am leaning towards the SS but wanted to get some opinions on the topic.

Thanks

New HRRs sell for $119.00 at Dunham's while on sale. They go on sale every other week. If that well worn SS is less than $250.00 just go buy it. If it is $119.00 you had better already own it. tom.

Very practical idea. Then you have the Single Six for life , more or less , and what's another $100 and change for the Heritage?
I would also say get both 22 cylinders for the Heritage RR just for the 22 mag option, because as i stated before in another RR realated thread, 22 mag has the power of a 22 lr out of a carbine length barrel, in a wheelgun/semi-auto pistol length barrel.
