I live in Oklahoma and drew a elk tag for Oklahoma have any of you elk hunters used hornady 145 grain ELDX in .270win

I have not. But I've seen enough photos of dead animals taken with the ELDX bullets that I'd not be afraid of that combo. Not saying it is the best option, but it'll get the job done. They tend to expand a lot and that scares a lot of hunters, but since they are heavy for caliber also give enough penetration most of the time. A tougher bullet might be a better option if you want to be able to take shots from bad angles.

I'm shooting ELD-X in couple other rifles but haven't tried 145gr in 270. I got Hornady manual and going to get some but then I looked at their site and they raised BC on that bullet. I just kind of put things on hold trying that bullet. I live Co so do hunt elk and I haven't had any problem with one's I using.

Congrats on the draw! Where are you planning to hunt? If it’s eastern Oklahoma, like Wichita, Cookson, or Cherokee, you’ll find that your shots likely won’t be over 100 yards. Our elk aren’t that big. The biggest I’ve seen were in the Spavinaw Game Refuge. A 270 with ELD-X’s will be more than enough. Best of luck!

Hunted New Zealand Red Stag this past spring. .270 Hornady Super Performance 130gr GMX.
One shot, broke shoulder, dead animal.

I've used the 143eldX, launched at 2950 fps on a 5-600lb moo bull, and it killed it just fine. shot was about 50yds and was heart lung, bull piled up in less than 50yds.
while it worked fine I couldn't figure out how it killed the animal that fast. There were a couple small holes in the heart ad one lung was toast, but I'd have expected it to run farther.

I loaded up some 145 else for my buddies .270win, and it was getting 3050 from a Max charge. accuracy was excellent, and I'd be happy to take most shot on something the size of an elk with that load.

I haven’t tried the eldx yet but I shoot the 130 grain sst consistent at 300 yards on 6” steel just don’t know if I want to shoot a cow elk with that bullet. 300yards would be the farthest most likely 150 yards or less

Then you have a lot of options.

Starting w/ the 150 gr. Nosler Partition or Swift A-Frame.

A 130-140 gr. monometal like the Barnes TSX will get you out to ~ 300 yards.

For < 200 yards, even the 150 gr. Remington Core-Lokt would due.

Depends on what your rifle likes.
