Got mine last year! As soon as I picked it up I knew I wanted to get it; it fit my hand perfectly (went with the Small backstrap)! The DA trigger was okay but it was the SA trigger that really sold me on this gun! I also liked that the decocker could be swapped out (very easily I might add), with a thumb safety as I prefer to carry it in Condition One.

I have the first gen 07. For some reason mine came with an extended barrel and night sights. It is the gun I trust the most out of my collection. Feels great in the hand and very well made. So glad I bought it.

People (bannockburn, others?) who have both the P-07 and a 75 Compact such as the PCR or P-01, how would you compare the two guns in terms of actual shooting? I've handled the P-07 and know how they feel, but haven't shot one, so just wondering how they compare to the metal guns (which I do have).

Great minds think alike! LOL

I am far from an expert. Both guns feel pretty much the same to me. The PCR feels a little better in the hand. They are both fun to shoot. What a review, huh! :)

I go the other way, I find the P07 significantly more comfortable in my hand (and so does my uncle, FWIW). I think it's because of my years on 1911a and Glock and wanting to get a higher grip than the beavertail allows on the compact frames. The P07 let's me get where I like, as do the full size 75 variants.

I'll say this, with only one outing with the P-07 it felt like I owned it for years. Very easy to shoot well.

Haven't had a chance to put that many rounds through either gun but I find the P07 trigger to be slightly better in SA than that of my P01. Both guns feel very ergonomic to me (the P01 seems like a compact version of the Hi-Power), while I just like the substantial heft of the P07 (the two guns are very close in weight), which was one of the reasons why I got it (and I liked the 15 round mag capacity).

That's kind of how I felt after trying one out at the LGS. It felt very comfortable in my hand and I really liked the solid feel that the gun had.

I have a P07 and a P01. They are very similar in shooting. My main issue with the P07 is the interface between the frontstrap and mag baseplate. I have fairly big hands and my pinky gets pinched when I'm not careful inserting the mag. The P01 doesn't have this issue, for me. That said, the P07 has a better trigger (small but noticeable difference) at least on the examples of the two pistols I own. YMMV. Both are excellent, really.

Does anyone know if fibre optic sights are available for the P-07??

I've also heard that SIG P226 magazines will work in the P07. Does anyone know if this true?

(Interested because I have at least a dozen P226 magazines on hand)

CajunGunWorks has a FO front sight for the P-07.

Not sure about P226 mags (though I don't see why not), but I got P229 mags to work in my P07...well sort of. First few tries were unsuccessful as I couldn't get the mag to reach the mag release catch. Found that if I pushed really hard on the mag base plate I could get it to catch but it was a very tight fit. Loaded up some snap caps and they worked fine without any problems.

My biggest concern, besides the tight fit, would be excessive wear on the magazine catch. If I was going to use SIG mags through my P07 I would probably relieve the slot on the mag where it engages the mag release catch.

Hope this helps.

I had a P07 gen2 and still live with a P01.

As much as I wanted to love the P07, I couldn't live with it's safety and greatly preferred the handling of the P01. Ideally, I'd find a P01 omega and hopefully it's safety would be easier to live with.

They're fantastic guns, I just prefer the P01.

Unlikely, at least if you want something like a 1911. I've tried (I think) all of the various CZ safeties (Omega, extended, P07, SAO, standard) and just can't find one that works for my 1911 trained hands right.

Sig SAO have to do for my non-1911 cocked and locked needs. But I'm somewhat of a safety snob, as you might surmise.

My CZ75B SA's factory extended safety is great. Right location, easy to snick on and off. Very natural for me. The P07 was in the right spot, it was just very hard to actuate without deliberate concentration for me. Not enough shelf, too much pressure or some combination of both I think for me.

So close, but so far.
