Hi guys I have been looking for a stock for my Howa 1500.

I can find plenty for short actions in both sporter and varmint.

And some for long action in sporter but as good as nothing for a LA varmint.

If anyone knows of any after market sturdy stocks that fit a Howe LA with a varmint barrel please let me know who makes them.

KRG Bravo chassis.
MDT Oryx.
Australian Precision Chassis.
And of course the Howa APC.

All are available through Legacy Sports International.

I like the Boyds Pro Varmint. Specifically, the price point...:)

I've got one (Boyd's) on my Howa 1500, .223, as well as a Savage 93 .22WMR, and have just ordered one for my Savage Axis II in the stainless 30-06, I really liked their Heritage design in the nutmeg. Personally I would go with Boyd's, they make a really decent looking stock, and if you're not into laminates, you can even get a replacement walnut stock that will fit right in.

I'd either use the factory stock or go McMillan. Everything else isn't really an upgrade.

I'm not sure I'd go that far. I'm assuming he has the model with the Hogue pillar bedded stock as I think that's what the "stock" basic model comes with. Even just moving to a fully bedded Hogue stock would be an upgrade as far as accuracy potential and/or stiffness goes.
