I already own a Glock 19 and it’s a great gun that I’m extremely comfortable with. The only issue is for EDC during the warm months, it’s not as practical for me. I could definitely make it work in the winter, but not the summer. I am 6’2 and 195 and have a relatively athletic build, so I have to put more work into concealing than some. I really want to get a Glock 43, but when I tried holding one in the store the other day, my hand was bigger than the grip. The grip on the Glock 43X fits my hand much better, but I heard the Glock 43X is almost like the Glock 19 in terms of concealment. I would definitely prefer a Glock for an EDC, but am open to other guns.

If my hand was hanging off the grip of the G43, would the G26 be too small as well? Or is it something I can work around.
I compared the XD-S, Shield and G43. Went with the Shield (1.0, 9mm), and have never regretted the choice.

Yes it probably would and yes you can work around it. Practice practice and more practice. It isn’t that hard to shoot a smaller gun, within reason of course. It won’t be as comfortable as shooting a larger gun but that’s the trade-off for concealment.

Sure, you won't be able to get all your fingers on the grip of a G26. I don't think anybody can. It doesn't mean bunches of people don't use them.

It might. Emphasis on might. What makes the G26 different is it is a double stack, so the grip is fatter and slightly longer than a single stack 9mm would be. If Glocks are your thing, see if you can hunt down a 43X. I believe their grips are a bit longer. Also there are magazine extensions for most Glock models to give you more to hold onto with bigger hands.

The 48 and 43x are thinner than the 19, even if the overall dimensions are similar (48 specifically). This will make the 48 easier to conceal than a 19, judging by my 48 vs my 26 (which is exactly as thick as a 19).

I'd recommend you take a look at the Mossberg MC1sc. I've been through a lot of those small polymer striker fired guns and settled on this one. All of them are small and snappy and take practice to use well (Ruger LC series, Sheids, G42/43, XD, Tauri, etc.). The difference isn't big but this is the one I've settled on.

I personally hate dangling fingers when shooting.. That said you can get aftermarket mag extensions that can help your fingers stay on the grip. course that makes the grip longer... EDC is a trade off of sorts.. Its all about what makes you more comfortable.

Smith and Wesson Shield, Glock 43, Maybe the Sign 365. There's a plethora of others. I'd suggest buying one your able to rent at the local range than see which one does it better for you. Than get training with whatever gun you choose.

The P365 is an outstanding carry gun. Very slim and easy to carry and conceal. I would not have believed how nice it shoots before trying it myself.
I'm over 6ft and have fairly large hands. The 12 round mag fits all my fingers on the grip. I have shot it far more with the 10 round mags and much prefer the flat base over the one with the extension. When I carry it (nearly every day now) the 10 round flat base mag is in the gun and a 12 round mag as a spare.
It is also Glock like in function. That ought to rile both the Sig and Glock fanboys.
Didn't the P365 have safety issues? I was looking at buying one, but am not sure how dependable it would be
I have it for my IWB and pocket carry, still using my p229 for OWB but it won't be long before I get a p365XL with mini-optic and TLR-4 light for OWB. Hopefully by Halloween to fend off the goblins

There were some issues early which seem to have been corrected. I have 3000+ round through mine with one FTF that could be blamed on the gun, it has never fired a factory round.
None of the issues I ever heard about were safety concerns.

People ask me often, what is the best EDC carry gun:- There is no correct answer for all body sizes, types, and gender.
My standard answer is:
1) an EDC gun IS a combat handgun ie: no manual safety (your trigger finger) and LOTS of real world training is your guns safety.
Which ever combat handgun you can consistently deliver 3 rounds quickly at fifteen feet into a 4” circle is your gun, period.
If that handgun is not the most comfortable, you need to make it work.

How do you manage with a G45 in warmer weather? Isn't a G45 similar to the G19 in size?
I wanted to carry the G19 originally, but it just doesn't seem too feasible to me, unless it's winter and I'm wearing baggy clothing and/or a jacket. I typically wear form-fitting clothes, as I have to dress decent for my job and I can get away with it because of my athletic physique. I've experimented with different holster positions and clothes and printing seems to be an issue with a lot of my clothes. I am comfortable carrying the G19 wearing jeans with the IWB holster in appendix position, but I feel like the G19 is too heavy when I'm wearing shorts.

Shouldn't make a difference, but I think you commented earlier you don't have a gun belt, and perhaps you're indicating with this comment these are shorts you don't wear a belt with?
