ELEY chooses RMR bullets for their new line of match ammunition

My voice is monotone and boring, kind of like me. I have been accused of having a dry sense of humor and some folks have said they can't tell when I am joking sometimes.
Welcome to the club. ;) I've been in trouble more than once because someone who didn't know me took me seriously.

I anticipated ammunition manufacturers to start using RMR bullets
Once the word spreads that ELEY chose to use RMR for their match ammunition, other ammunition manufacturers could switch to RMR.
Another ammunition manufacturer is using RMR jacketed bullets - https://www.facebook.com/rmrbullets/photos/a.164961740263755/2361355770624330/?type=3&theater

"One of our awesome ammo manufacturer customers tested our 115 grain mini-MPR in ballistics Gel with a rack of ribs in the middle. Not only did they penetrate the ribs, but they had full expansion and held together awesomely."

"Minuteman Ammunition
9mm +P 115 grain Hollow Point
1,275 Feet Per Second

Gel had a set of pork ribs inserted in it.

I LOVE THESE ROUNDS!!! All three test rounds penetrated the ribs completely. Each round had Full expansion and worked Perfectly! Not a lot of fragments or shrapnel either.

I recommend these to anyone with a 9mm rated for +P ammunition!!! Great rounds!!"

This is awesome!!!!

Yup! From rags to riches while we watched (and ordered). Pretty soon Jake will be rubbing cuff links with the "millionaires and billionaires" a recent president used to complain about !!

The only thing Jake needs now... the only thing he doesn't have... is a theme song !
So what we have here is his very own personal theme song,
as sung to the theme music from the "Beverly Hillbillies".

♫ Come and listen to my story 'bout a man named Jake,
A poor mountaineer, 'bout to starve for goodness sake !
Then one day he bought old bullets on a whim,
So he started sellin' seconds, pulls, and blems.
(Shined every single one by hand, he did.)

Next thing you know old Jake's a billionaire,
Kin folk said, Don't go to Commie-fornia, even on a dare !
Said Lewiston is the place you wanna go,
So they started shippin' bullets from their home in Idaho. ♫
(He don't need no stinkin' movie stars !)

Look for the CD in your next bullet shipment !

Nothing like the batch of 124’s I received previously.
Shot a lot of 8’s at 50yds at PPC regional, recently. I claim the 7’s..
Not what I expected. I was surprised by this.
I today received some 124gr MPR’s. They look MUCH better....
It’s not worth sending the 115’s back. I’ll use them for short line practice (7-15yds’s).
Just wanted you to know these escaped the plant.

Theres nothing wrong with the 115s . Just looks like your gun prefers the 124s. The little wrinkles you see on the 115s is because they have more copper fold over and you can only fold so much before they start to want to wrinkle a little. All that really matters with the base of the bullet is the edges of the bases. As your bullet flies, the air will never get anywhere near those little wrinkles. Your gun just likes 124s better. Which is quite common. I think 124s just shoot better than 115s for most people. They're more stable and there's more contact with the rifling.

We tested the accuracy of the 115s with our shop PCC that seems to love 115s. We were shooting ground squirrels past 50 yards with them so I know they are accurate so long as the gun likes them.

Also, you used two different powders. HP38 is a great powder but almost never gave me great accuracy. I've still got about 18 lbs of 231/hp38 but I've switched over to be86 as it seems to get me amazing velocities with accuracy to match. That said, I mostly shoot 147s or 124s now so I don't have a ton of experience with 115's.

Jake, I tried some of your 115 grain FMJ FP MW bullets for the first time this week. They shot well, producing a 25-shot 1.28" group at 25 yards from a 38 Super with a 5" Kart barrel at an average speed of 1494 fps.

While I like W231/HP-38, I have gotten smaller groups with other powders like Titegroup, Target, Bullseye, BE-86, etc.

This is from my recent testing with RMR 115 gr FP MW (I will be continuing the accuracy testing with Range Test #4 next) - https://www.thehighroad.org/index.p...endence-from-work.853305/page-3#post-11212458

Was that with a pcc?
No Glock 22 and KKM 40-9mm conversion barrel with Fab Defense Universal Scope Mount and 2-7x32 scope on Caldwell rest (Bottom of trigger guard was rested not bottom of rail) at 25 yards - https://www.thehighroad.org/index.p...endence-from-work.853305/page-3#post-11211204

I am currently working up accurate pistol loads to participate in the August-September 2019 most popular LEO autoloader 10 shot challenge but don't you worry, PCC testing of 115 gr FP Mini MW and 115 gr Mini MPR along with 95 gr FMJ will commence shortly at 25/50 yards.

I am having technical issue of mount getting loose on Glock's polymer rail that is flexible and hence have been looking to convert my railed Sig 1911 XO to 9mm for more consistent mount for optics but currently examining different options - https://www.thehighroad.org/index.p...endence-from-work.853305/page-3#post-11200576

I had that same mount and it simply would not stay put on an XDm. I bought this one from IMI as recommended by a THR member and it is rock solid on the same gun.
I am noticing that IMI mount has two screws instead of one screw of Fab Defense/Mako USM. That may be the reason for greater stability.

Just placed an order on Amazon prime and will see how it does with heavier scope.

Vaalpens recommended the IMI mount to me.
(Thanks Vallpens!)
I suggested it to Walkalong when he mentioned having issues with the one he had.since it worked for me.
Works well on my P226.and XD.
(P226 sights won't clear underneath it so I have to remove it to pull the slide to clean, minor pain but no big deal)
Price is right as well.
Of course not a racy looking as the other mount, but it works well.

Shooting Sports USA reviewed ELEY .38 Super Comp match ammunition with RMR 124 gr FMJ RN bullet - https://www.ssusa.org/articles/2019/9/20/review-eley-38-super-comp-ammunition/

Their testing and measurements showed very consistent .001" OAL variance which correlates with my experience, even with mixed range brass - https://www.thehighroad.org/index.p...progressive-press.833604/page-2#post-10779806

The bullet is loaded to an overall length of 1.253 inch and varied by only 0.001 inch

And produced 25 yard average group size of 1"
SSUSA said:
Para Ordnance wide body with a Caspian slide and a 5-inch Kart barrel. Accuracy was assessed at 25 yards with the gun in a Ransom Rest.

The average of five, 5-shot groups measured 1 inch.
