Call of Duty Urban Camo (son’s idea)

I'm no expert, but "pure" black is a really bad color for camo from what I've read.

The point of camo is to either break up a silohouette or avoid drawing the eyes in. Pure blackness is easy to spot.

So that's why many SWAT teams use navy blue. So I think a good urban camo is a more grey color.

Luckily, many parkerized, melonited, anodized firearms are more gray than super black.

There was a white/black/grey (maybe two shades of grey?) multicam type which went around as “urban camo” probably 20yrs ago.

ETA: yup, it was 4 color white, grey, graphite, black.

I like the concept, at least for human eyes without technology (flirting, nvg, etc)

I don’t think there really needs to be any urban camo apart from dark subdued tones. Black is just fine. If it weren’t you’d see swat and other specialized forces using camouflage guns, but they don’t. They’re all just left black

I use a home brew version of dazzle in gray, khaki, brown for my duck boats and blinds. It is highly effective in the relatively angular world of a cattail/sedge/reed marsh. I favor "bold" patterns such as Swiss Alpenflage and Belgian or Danish woodland pattern in general. I think modern camouflages are too "muddy," at least the commercially available ones for hunting. I would think a version of dazzle would be equally effective in urban settings as the British Berliner camouflage I linked in my post above appears to demonstrate.

I'd think a blended A-Tacs type camo in grey, brown, and red (all subdued) would be about the best urban camo, with rectangular patterns.

Grayish green. It won't show up as much on night vision googles...and blends in pretty well with pavement.

Curious as to why one would need urban camo? Not being a smart a$$, just curious about the application? I get camo'd hunting guns, I camo'd my Turkey gun to match the cedar wetlands I hunt. But not getting the urban camo need.

If it's for comifornia then Doo Doo brown. Or just wrap everything in black trash bags. But in all seriousness dark grey, light grey, black. Guess it really depends on alot of factors. Are you trying to blend in with concrete structures rubble or a flower garden.

Cities in Oklahoma have lots of grass and trees.
Hiding doesn't do any good, they have helicopters and dogs... The only escape is speed.
Not that I ever did that.

I've always seen urban camo as greys and black, with possibly darker blues mixed in. Kinda like this.

In an urban setting the only effective camo is no camo.
