We have various shades of green for Woodland camouflage, various shades of tan, brown and sand for Flat Desert Earth and white, gray and black for the winter but for our city folk what color combinations work well for use in cities?

Thinking ahead of AR builds 7, 8 and 9.

Something pattered after the Dazzle camouflage they used on WWII battleships:

Just use basic black. It will fit in with what everyone else is carrying.:D

Black is good for nighttime but not very effective in daylight.

Actually I thought of the dazzle pattern only with a little less dazzle.

A black, concrete gray and some subdued shade of blue might be interesting.

I'm no expert, but "pure" black is a really bad color for camo from what I've read.

The point of camo is to either break up a silohouette or avoid drawing the eyes in. Pure blackness is easy to spot.

So that's why many SWAT teams use navy blue. So I think a good urban camo is a more grey color.

Luckily, many parkerized, melonited, anodized firearms are more gray than super black.

I don’t think there really needs to be any urban camo apart from dark subdued tones. Black is just fine. If it weren’t you’d see swat and other specialized forces using camouflage guns, but they don’t. They’re all just left black

I use a home brew version of dazzle in gray, khaki, brown for my duck boats and blinds. It is highly effective in the relatively angular world of a cattail/sedge/reed marsh. I favor "bold" patterns such as Swiss Alpenflage and Belgian or Danish woodland pattern in general. I think modern camouflages are too "muddy," at least the commercially available ones for hunting. I would think a version of dazzle would be equally effective in urban settings as the British Berliner camouflage I linked in my post above appears to demonstrate.

I'd think a blended A-Tacs type camo in grey, brown, and red (all subdued) would be about the best urban camo, with rectangular patterns.

Curious as to why one would need urban camo? Not being a smart a$$, just curious about the application? I get camo'd hunting guns, I camo'd my Turkey gun to match the cedar wetlands I hunt. But not getting the urban camo need.

Thanks folks

If it's for comifornia then Doo Doo brown. Or just wrap everything in black trash bags. But in all seriousness dark grey, light grey, black. Guess it really depends on alot of factors. Are you trying to blend in with concrete structures rubble or a flower garden.

Cities in Oklahoma have lots of grass and trees.
Hiding doesn't do any good, they have helicopters and dogs... The only escape is speed.
Not that I ever did that.

Red is a interesting color to add although can’t say I like the rectangular shapes.

Nature Boy your son has a interesting pattern but he loses it with the stainless steel barrel.

As to why I want camouflage black in boring. Plus the guns are for my enjoyment and use and I don’t care about their value after I die.
