Call it a streak of luck or perhaps foolish spending, but the past two weeks I’ve come across a few bargains, mostly rifle related. The first, though clearly not a rifle, was a new BuckMark for $240. Great price made even better when I posted it and was informed it has a $25 rebate. Then, as I was mulling over optic or no optic while carting AR parts for a build I spot the Vortex Venom on sale for $180. Then, as always, things went South at PSA due to a few essentials being out of stock.

What to do? Why Primary Arms loves selling me things and that’s when I spot an F-1 muzzle brake “on sale” for the oops price of $10.50 (now $94.50 and out of stock) and have it too on the way. Who’s luckier than me!?! Some last minute shopping had me seriously contemplating a Ruger Mk IV when I glance in the rifle scope case and see a sale tag next to a Nikon P-Tactical 1.5-4.5x proclaiming “$100 OFF”. And so I had to ask, and the price was $189 but the manager noted that while a misprint and expired, it read clear enough to sell me the scope for $89.

I now have: another pistol off my bucket list, a small optic to swap around and try out, some bling for the wife’s AR, and a birthday gift for my daughter who recently finished her first AR. Could life get better you ask? Why yes, muzzleloader season starts Saturday!

Here’s to bargains everywhere and to hoping some of my recent good fortune finding its way to all of you too. Good luck and good hunting, AND good hunting for those afield this week, stay safe!

$105 off, 33% discount on the first handgun I ever fired, a BuckMark.

$50 off, 22% discount on the sale price after I promised myself the Browning would be my irons only fun gun.

$84 off, 89% discount, if only I could find other AR accessories in Rose Gold TiCN

$100 off, 53% discount, money that otherwise would have been spent on a fancy charging handle upgrade for my daughter.

Ive had a buckmark since I was 12. Got rid of my ruger counterparts. The brownings dont seem to jam when they get dirty like the rugers do, and the browning,(to me,)seems to shoot better. I dont know how many rounds ive put through it but im sure its around 10,000 if not more. I can only remember cleaning it twice lol. Nice bargains, im saving for black friday.

I can hate the game. Let me know when you come across a good quality combloc front sight adjustment tool,
instead of one of those 15$ fakakta c-clamp deals.

Fortune smiles warmly on those who are prepared to recieve her...

Who doesn't love a Buckmark?

I'll take all the luck I can get!:)

Enjoy that front stuffer, hopefully she'll bring you home something nice, too!

I know some of those sound hinky but the sale tag said “Nikon Tactical Series Reg. $189.xx-$299.xx” so it would have been “on sale”, and the muzzle brake was the last one in stock so I’d think others got in on that one too and the wife has been wanting something to replace the black birdcage on her stainless barrel.

I really don’t gamble or play the lottery but honestly my streak began last month when, after a long road trip, my Jeep’s upper ball joint broke loose the night I got back in town, just as I was coming to a stop light. Despite the expense of replacement I count myself lucky for sure.

I had the same thing happen to me on the trail. Used a bike tire tube to rap around the ball, but I had coils I'd like to see someone get that torsion arm back in lol.
You definitely lucky it happened where it did.

I only find deals like those when I'm broke.

It's frustrating when CDNN and Palmetto are sending me emails everyday when I'm broke, or I'm perusing Midway or Brownell's and find one.....

I supposed you'd fall in a vat of excrement and come out smelling like roses, with a 100 carat diamond in your mouth, Skylerbone! ;)

Funny you should mention that as it pertains to my career! Been there, done that-was bound to happen over 24 years- and most decidedly did NOT smell like roses!

As a guy with a regular job and a big family to raise that doubled in size last year, child support going out, and support coming in at a rate of once every couple of months when she’s lucky, I’m thankful we stand on our own without assistance (the Govt. kind). It’s also great having 4 more range partners, 3 of whom need something to fill the void left by a dad who abandoned them.

I definitely understand and empathize with wanting while being broke. I’ve taken second and third jobs in the past to keep above water and sold possessions near and dear to me. Still, I’m an optimist at heart, I count my lucky stars, and I try to build up the “war chest” fund for days when those stars align. I’m not meaning to brag about buying things, there’s nothing noble in the action or ownership, I just felt like Black Friday was upon me.

As much of a disaster as that appears to be you're absolutely correct in it being a blessing it decided to come apart while you were A: in town and B: on pavement. Looks like that broke nearly everything on that side of the front end...OUCH.

Ripped the stub axle out, bent the control arms, and tore up the rack and pinion. I sold it to a co-worker’s brother for the exact amount insurance offered it to me for, and I briefly considered fixing it myself but don’t really have time till after hunting season. I actually checked the ball joints when I replaced hub assemblies and rotors a few months ago and they were in good shape. I guess the railroad tracks saw to them though and when I heard that grind right after I knew I was in trouble. Sure enough, 1/2 block later as I was ready to turn off the main road to check, kaput.

I have a Buckmark like that. Had trouble ejecting when new. Liberal coating with PTFE Teflon spray cured that

Couple days ago I was pretty consistently hitting a mid sized aspirin bottle at 25 yards

Nice pickups. I recently got what I assume was an oops deal on the stock for my new Weatherby Vanguard Heavy Barrel which I also got a deal on (MSRP $789, I paid $399). Amazon had the Hogue Overmold in FDE w/ the full aluminum bed block for $131 (which is what the cheaper pillar bedded version runs, should have been $240ish). I didn't particularly like the FDE and was planning on saving up for a Bell & Carlson, but that deal was just too good to pass up, and no more than 5 minutes after I ordered mine the price was fixed. The FDE has grown on me. I also replaced the velcro on ammo loops for the MidwayUSA cheek riser (which I got at 40% off) with a patch of my choosing which sad to say I did pay full price for.

You and my #1 son......
I was on the phone with my son when I pulled into the lgs. Son said to keep an eye out for a decent o/u 12ga for clays, Doves, informal trap......etc.
LGS had a Beretta 686 Silver Pigeon, unfired, on consignment.
#1 son was there within the hour and bought it.

I betcha it's a bagel

Most definitely: solid on the outside and my wallet on the inside represented by a large hole. Still, it was good while it lasted and I paid the taxes this past week by getting skunked deer hunting for the first time in decades. I hunted hard but I appreciated the humbling Mother Nature gave me. The fun part was coming home to a few packages just waiting to be opened.

Awesome score. I like the setup of that rifle and the fact it has a heavy bbl, I might look into something like that... is that an 18"bbl?

A few pics of what I came home to. I’m not sure if I should remove the rear sight or not for aesthetic reasons, never had such a diminutive red dot on a pistol before.

I’ll give it this, the finish really highlights the polishing F-1 puts on their product.

My son’s future build kit. If he’s really enthusiastic I might skip the Anderson lower and spring for an Aero, assuming I can find yet another deal. I know the hate is deepening but I’m a bargain hunter.
