I was at a LGS today and saw a Belgian Browning 16 gauge with a poly choke. The poly was very well fitted. Could the poly have been a factory option?

I just got an old 16 running not long ago....I do like it quite a bit the only down side is the price of ammo.

I only shoot orange circle things that fly, so take this next for what it is worth....I can get 100 rounds of 12 or 20 at wally world for $20something.....I can get one box of 16 for that same $20 something.

I would give my eye teeth to find an A5 that is in 20.

Thanks for the response, but what I’m asking is if anyone knows whether or not Browning offered a factory installed polychoke on the A5 as an option.

Maybe Remington or Savage did with their versions, but I am not sure Belgium would have.

Rudolph31 is the expert on that sort of thing.

The Polychoke could have been done at Polychoke’s factory. They were pretty good at that, and preferred it in lieu of allowing gunsmiths to do it.

The shot gun I was looking at has no vent rib. I didn’t check the barrel for any indication of choke. I seem to recall that if there is no indication of choke on the barrel then it is likely the poly was factory installed. I don’t recall if that reference was specific to Browning.

You can get target ammo for less than $9.00/box, even at Walmart. Here’s what’s available at Natchez:

And at SGAmmo:

Or, you can start reloading and actually save money.

Thanks for the info Rudy. That is what I was looking for. I’ll go back to the store and check for a number

Up date on the sweet 16. The poly choke has a #3 on it. Does that mean it could be dealer installed?
