I went to Glock’s Customer Service page and asked this question: (along with a thank you(

Question -
Subject (optional) - Future Glock in .22 LR

Message - I love and own several Glocks. I am wondering, will Glock ever make a .22 Long Rifle pistol? By the way, THANK YOU for maintaining the supply of new Gen 3 Glocks for us here in California. Seriously, Thank You.

I received this answer:
Hi Tom,

I entered your suggestion in our customer communications log. Hopefully there is enough demand for your wish to be granted.

Thanks for supporting Glock, have a nice day!

I remember reading years ago that Gaston Glock never considered making a .22lr pistol and the article went to say he didn’t want to.
I figure if enough people ask maybe there’s a chance Glock may make one. I highly doubt I could buy one in California but I only plan to live here for 3 more years.

Here’s a link to Customer Service if you’re interested. https://us.glock.com/en/customer-service

I would bet a Glock .22LR would be a reliable pistol and a big seller.

You may already know this, but Advantage Arms makes a .22 conversion unit for Glocks. I have one for Gen 3 G22 40 S&W police trade in. Can't remember a FTFs with it. Shoots to POA and is a ton of fun. Easy on and easy off. Only downside (if you consider it a downside) is that the unit is Aluminum and the total package is real light weight.

A $450ish poly 22lr? Wouldn't surprise me if they sold them for $500. Would be a nice edition for the Glock collectors, but not sure it'll offer anything over S&Ws and Rugers' offerings.

I can see this as a big benefit for folks who live in places where it's a chore to get a handgun added to their license.

It's not going to happen, the G40 has already been released and it's not a .22.

I just wouldn't be right if Glock didn't have a G22 in .40 S&W and a G40 in .22.

I know that Gaston Glock only wanted to provide handguns for military and police and never had an interest in “recreational shooting”. I wonder if anyone has ever told him that many folks use Glocks recreationally? If Glock doesn’t know that they are definitely out of touch.

I have considered buying a conversion kit but I would love to see a Glock factory rimfire...and yes, I would pay $400 and even $500 for one. A Glock pistol plus the cost of a .22 conversion is quite a price. $400-$500 seems reasonable in that regard.

I have owned one for at least a decade and it works just fine with no ftf either.

I managed to get 4 spare mag's for it and can do actual "drills" without wasting centerfire and at indoor ranges that only allow lead.

If you can get one = BUY IT.

I thought the ISSC M22 was essentially a Glock 22, but I see it's no longer available for some reason or another.

It was indeed very Glock-like in looks and feel, but was a hammer-fired, single-action pistol. Looked like a neat little shooter, but I never handled one.

Out of the 22 rimfire conversions, which is better? The Advantage Arms or the Tactical Solutions Kits?

I saw these on The Glock Store website. Of course, they don’t have any available for my G45 or G26. I get the strange feeling that finding these can be hit or miss.

It would be nice if Glock did make a G19 size .22 some day. I was thinking about AA 22 conversion kit but ready too many reviews about people having problems with them. For now I am happy with my M&P 22 Compact for when I want to shoot a poly frame combat style 22 pistol and am really loving my new Buckmark Camper stainless too.

Cannot say about the other brand.

I have Advantage Arms and LOVE it.

It will work on my 19 & 23 frames.

A friend is interested and I have been reading up.
The Tac Sol is technically superior with heavier steel slide, but the AA seems to work better.

It's not going to happen. Glock stopped developing new ideas in the mid 80's, and a 22lr would require a redesign of the whole firing system.

Beyond that, why would you want a Glock trigger in a 22 when you could have a nice single action only trigger from one of the other guys? Of course, I don't understand the double action Walther or ruger 22 pistols either, so what do I know.

If you want one for training that is very similar to your full-sized one, just buy a conversion kit.

As Greyling said, I can't imagine that a 22lr Glock trigger or sights would be as good as a Browning Buck Mark or Ruger Mark Whatever. It would probably cost more, too.

Thus, I don't really see the point.

Because I would like a Glock in 22 rimfire.

Very.
I know AA has a listing of ammo to use and to avoid.
Hard to go wrong with CCI MiniMag 40 gr RN for this sort of plinker.

I kind of figured they might be “selective” on which ammo they like. That has always been my problem with other .22 autoloaders. But since Glock does not make a .22 perhaps a conversion will have to do. At least it will feel familiar when shooting it.

I have never cared much for .22 autos. That is why I like revolvers for the most part except for when it comes to my Glocks. At least AA has a list of what works vs wasting time and money trying to figure it out.
Thank you.

One I'd really want to see is a 17/22 size Glock in .32 Auto. Something that'll have at least 20 round capacity … other people have entertained the idea of a modern full size double stack pistol in .32 Auto and just imagining all the shots that you could get out of it. I think it'd be very cool, I'd buy it.
