Good time to be a revolver fan, new Kimber Target announced

I have a German 6 shot .357 snub nose that cost me $175 new.
I took it to a really talented gunsmith who did a trigger job on it worthy of the S&W PC for $35.

For one fifth as much I got something just as good.

1. When did you buy that revolver?
2. $995 is MSRP we’ll have to wait and see What retail is.

Good to see Kimber expanding their line of revolvers. Very fine looking revolver but pricey for what would be used by most for 38 spl due to weight(25oz), same as SP101 2.25" 357 magnum, which isn't a lot of fun at the range shooting 357 magnum (IMO). I'd also like to see a larger framed Kimber offered in the future.
I've debated trading my Ruger SP101 towards a K6s multiple times now. Hmmmm.

Problem being is my SP101 was my first handgun, and I'm attached to it.

Yep, I think I'd regret giving up my first handgun, even though I don't shoot it much any more.
Yep, and the way I see it is, you may not shoot it now but down the road you may just have an itch to scratch. And more importantly, if you have kids/grandkids it can be something you pass down to them. I WISH I had some of my grandpa's guns.

Contributing Member, as memory serves I bought it about 12 years ago.

I think that the K6 might have shaved just a scooch off the width, but I'll make do.
The scary thing is living without my gunsmith Don McClure who managed to make it to 93.
RIP Don.

Is it a Herman Weihrauch "Arminius" 357?

That “Target” revolver is a good looking revolver, but as was mentioned earlier, a 4” barrel doesn’t say “target” to me especially with a fiber optic front sight. I guess it would depend on how prominent the red dot would appear to the shooter.

The K6S DASA 3” looks interesting to me.

I am kind of a dyed in the wool S&W guy. I own an S&W model 60 Pro. It’s chambered for .357. It is a J Frame and weighs 22.9 ozs.

Shooting .357 out of my 60 Pro is quite lively and invigorating, to say the least.
I can’t imagine shooting .357 Magnum from the Kimbers would be a whole lot different with only an added 2 ozs or so, but the grip configuration may help on the Kimber.

When the first K6S revolvers first came out I didn’t encounter one for over a year after their release. I would be interested in seeing and handling this new Kimber but I am not going to hold my breath.

IMO as States such as California move towards banning all semi-auto pistols it is going to shift demand for revolvers, especially small and medium frame size. Of course more demand will drive prices up. I am starting to look more actively for good used revolvers. I am especially fond of S&W K-Frames but will not ignore Rugers if the price is right.

I guess that would explain Kimber breaking into the revolver market in the first place, and Colt’s re-entry to that market, supplying demand in a future oppressed market.

Stonebuster, its an EAA.
EAA is the importer of the Weihrauch 357s who used to sell the "Arminius". They're known for high quality airguns and inexpensive revolvers that give you a lot of bang for your bucks. There's one on Armslist now for $175. They've been making revolvers for a long time. If I was looking for a budget 357/38spl revolver I'd consider one.

Wow I am impressed but it would be great to see others start to make accessories for it. Though it is not a show stopper I was a little unhappy when I discovered the differences in frames therefore a difference in grips.
