Stupid question from a first time revolver owner

I have recently purchased a GP100 revolver. Took it to a range this weekend and after shooting ~200 rounds, I just love everything about this gun. Upon cleaning the burn rings today, I have noticed a tiny ding at the very edge of one of the cylinder chambers (see picture), on the side facing the barrel. Besides a pure cosmetic issue, my question is - may this ding potentially affect the way the cylinder aligns with the forcing cone and the way gases expand into the barrel and the cylinder gap? Apologize if my question is totally idiotic. As I have mentioned, I am new to revolvers and firearm in general.
Thank you ! Pic1.jpeg

Personally I’d let some burn rings build up there and forget about it, as I’ve become both lazy and apathetic about such things. While I’m doubtful it would cause problems I am also borderline incompetent so take that as you will. :uhoh: Enjoy your new revolver!

Like the others said, it doesn't look like it should bother anything. Shoot and have fun.

BTW, welcome to the The High Road. And congratulations on the GP100. It's an excellent way to start with centerfire revolvers. And having the capability of using 38 special ammo, it is economical to shoot.

Thanks. I wanted to call Ruger’s customer service tomorrow, but after reading all the responses here, I guess it doesn’t worth the hustle.

I wouldn't worry about it but I have to say I don't remember seeing beveled chamber mouths before?
I didn’t see many revolvers in my life. Let along shooting them. I own Glock 19 for years, but this is my first (definitely not the last) revolver. So issues like this seem concerning to me. But again, seems that most respondents don’t think much about this ding. Cosmetically it looks not perfect, and I would prefer not having it. But sending the gun back factory seems now a bit exaggerated.

Welcome to THR.
I also highly doubt it will cause any problems but if it keeps you up at night thinking about it I would just pay close attention to whether or not that chamber throws fliers compared to the others. If not great. If so I'm sure Ruger will fix you up in a hurry.
WARNING TO NEW MEMBERS.
THR TENDS TO BE A LARGE GROUP OF ENABLERS. NEVER ASK IF YOU SHOULD BUY A NEW GUN FOR ANY REASON. WE HERE HAVE A WAY OF TALKING EACHOTHER INTO BUYING 2 OF EVERYTHING.

I had the same thought. But mine has them too. They're just less pronounced that in that photo. Plus my cylinder face is not quite that clean.

The rings are definitely there. The dings are hardly visible though. The one on my gun you can see right away. It is small, but on the clean cylinder a darker color ding is pretty visible.

I think you misunderstood. I don't have any dings on the cylinder of this revolver (but I suppose I might on others I own). I was replying to Ratshooter's comment regarding bevels on the chamber mouths.

While cleaning the revolver today I have discovered another flaw. The cylinder crane has a deep notch on it (on the inner side, facing the frame). This is not a cut through, but just a deep grove. Probably doesn’t affect strength of the crane or anything else. But for me it is just lack of attention to details. 7453F627-BC84-4794-BF52-85A479FEDF90.jpeg 306962E0-90E9-46C0-B2C8-3CB66465AF84.jpeg
