New glock coming

So.... Just trying to pick a fight?
No, I'm trolling and giving Gunny a hard time :). Nice edition contingent of MSRP, still a bit of a let down. I expected something a lot more in demand based on the build up... Well I was hoping for it at least.

I am!!! I told everybody what it was gonna be!!!
Post 25

With the intro video showing pretty people hiking mountains and stuff I was starting to think they made all that noise for some outdoor clothing line.

Plenty of better things they could have done. The 46 in America, Gen 5 .45 models (or other calibers, I just don't use .40 or .357) an honest to goodness 19 size compact .45, not the awful hybrid compact/subcompact that the 30/30S is (my opinion only), a hellcat/365 option, the 15 round Shield mag/alternative for the 43x/48, OEM +2/3 g43 mags or, heck something NEW.

But, I'm sure they have plenty of folks watching market forces and felt a .22 was a place they could make money, what with their main competitors being Taurus, Ruger and Keltec and a few others.

Underwhelming, sure, but I've got all the Glocks I planned on buying anyway. My gun focus these days is upgrading and refining my 1911 collection

Gotcha! Hard to tell on the internet sometimes. :)

All kidding aside, that's my thoughts exactly...

I dont think anyone could pick a fight on this one. This entire thread was a lighthearted joke about Glocks big "legendary announcements". No one here is surprised by the press stopping news. In fact many thought it would be a new version of something already out....or some boots. Lol

After all their build up and horn tooting they could announce the first consumer plasma rifle and we would be underwhelmed.....and it would still be square, black, reliable, and plastic.

Even more underwhelming than Springfield's similar hype for ... Yet another AR15.

Heck, I was underwhelmed by the press conference. I expected something better and more professional from a company of Glocks magnitude. It was a bit cringe worthy. I'm not interested in this new Glock, but I'm eager to see all the YouTube vids on them.

F9D80D19-2D17-4193-9BBE-6E6EE1D7D970.jpeg Nice for a new shooter if they don’t already have access to a S&W 22. The 10 round capacity of these new Glocks (43x, 48, 44) is worrisome to me. It’s like Glock is 100% preparing for the 2nd amendment to get squeezed to 10 rounds in every state. Could be a marketing gamble or could be they know something we don’t.

Admittedly I've never watched a firearm press conference (although I have a few friends that go to SHOT yearly and the LE demos when they can. so even if I'd watched it I wouldn't know how it compares to others. I did read the article linked above and even for 200 bucks (which I'm sure it will be double that) I'm not interested in a 10 rd magazine 22. Why make it "indistinguishable from the gen 5 G19" and then not make it the same capacity.....seems foolish.

Most makers of .22 plinkers like to stick to single stacks for reliability, I think that's more the goal here.

wow completely underwhelming. 10 round magazines......years late on this one glock. only a 4" barrel....I could go on and on .....I wont. had it been a .22mag might have caught my attention more. might be a great gun though, guess we'll find out.......

I do like how Glock shoots for reliability above all else but judging by the S&W .22, 12 rounds is not a problem. 15 rounds would make me want one. Maybe

only a 4" barrel

I get the 4 inch barrel. They are advertising it as being indistinguishable from the G19 which is their number one selling gun. They likely want to push it as a training tool which I feel is smart. What I'm baffled by is the 10 rd capacity. 15 is standard in the 19. 17 in the G17. As another poster said, single stacks tend to be more reliable but one could use a longer single stack mag or even a slight rotary and be just fine given that the grip is as big as the G19. The article did say there are whispers about the 15 rd mags. But that decision baffles me when Taurus, Keltec etc are getting good reliability with bigger mags.

Maybe they made it as a training tool for the oft talked about GAP. How many rounds did they hold? Lol

It also will accept all sights and holsters from the G19 (and therefore most anything for most every glock.)

I am pretty shocked that it appears to be a browning/peter locking 22 rather than a straight blowback pinned to frame barrel. Its definately not pinned as it comes off with the slide like every other Glock. I can't imagine accuracy (and if it were any other brand I'd question reliability) will be as good as all the fixed barrels. (Neos, Mk series, victory etc). I just hope the thing isn't made by GSG.

I never felt the need for a 22lr training pistol, but if I did, it would be to focus solely on draws and trigger discipline. In that case I'd want it to be as close to my CCW as possible. For those carrying a G19/23/32 the G44 makes sense as a training option. If it cycles as reliably as a G19 that would be an accomplishment.
