Took my Interarms US MADE TPH .22 in Stainless to range on Sunday. Have not shot it in several years but cleaned and lubed it. Checked the forum for best Ammo. Shot both CCI Stinger and Mini Mags. I know that Stinger is hotter but had problems. The Mini Mags had no problems. The issue with the Stinger was that a first double action round would not fire. Rim showed a strike in rim. If I did a second DA pull or a single action shot it fired. Subsequent shots in single action were fine. Any recommendations. Forgot to bring box of CCI Quiet Semi Auto to see if it would cycle the TPH. Anyone tried this in mouse gun 22? Thanks.

Quiet does not operate any semi-automatic I own, rifle or pistol. Not nearly enough pressure. That's Ruger 10/22, MKII, and SR22. Bersa, TX22, PT22. All are no go. It's fine in revolvers, but not really quiet. I really like it in bolt and lever action .22's. It's very quiet in these. I was hoping for a cheap suppressor like sound in a pistol, not going to happen unless you like manually operating your pistol, and even then it's not quiet.

I have tried CCI Quiet-22 in three semi-automatic .22 firearms:
_ ArmaLite AR-7 Explorer rifle 16 inch barrel.
_ Remington Nylon 66 rifle 17 1/4 inch barrel (shortened).
_ Ruger MkII pistol 6 inch barrel.

Quiet-22 made the AR-7 and the Ruger MkII straight pull bolt actions.
Quiet-22 ejected from the Nylon 66 but did not recoil far enough to cock the striker or release a shell from the magazine. I still had to work the bolthandle to cock the striker and feed the next round.

From the pistol barrel the Quiet-22 muzzle blast was still supersonic and required hearing protection. A 16 inch or longer barrel allows the pressure in the barrel to drop to a quiet level.

I thought an 8 inch deep two gallon cat litter jug would stop the Quiet-22 round nose solid and the Quiet-22 segmented hollowpoint. Nope. Through penetration even from the pistol. I did locate segments from the Quiet-22 hollowpont in the mud behind the jug.

CCI Quiet-22
_ 40 gr bullet at 710 fps for 44 ft-lbs
CCI .22 LR Standard Velocity
_ 40 gr bullet at 1070 fps for 101 ft/lbs energy.
CCI .22 LR MiniMag (high velocity)
_ 40 gr bullet at 1235 fps for 135 ft/lbs energy.

The CCI Quiet-22 is like a Long Rifle version of the CCI CB Long.
CCI CB Long and CCI CB Short
_ 29 gr bullet at 720 fps for 33 ft/lbs

If your .22 LR Only magazine gun fails to feed CB Longs or Shorts, Quiet-22 is full length .22 Long Rifle.

One maybe problem. A CCI Quiet-22 lead round nose looks identical to CCI .22 LR Standard Velocity and a CCI Quiet-22 segmented hollowpoint looks identical to a CCI .22 MiniMag copperplate hollowpoint.

Back to the opening post.

The only mini .22 I have is a Jennings J22 (stop snickering) with a 2 inch barrel. I have only had success getting it to run smoothly with .CCI Stinger and MiniMag.
I suspect for the barrel length and slide mass of the Walther TPH, Quiet-22 won't develop the recoil to operate successfully.

Just what I needed. Another excuse to go to the range if weather permits.
