I will vote. Like you I need to do some research.

I'd like to vote for fewer members on the board unless each and every one justified their position or essentially campaigned for the position.

i've already voted. Been doing that for decades.

Except for one candidate, all the candidates have been selected by the nominating committee which is made up of current BOD members. i voted for Mr. Tait and others who are not members of the current BOD.

Remember this: The more candidates you vote the less likelihood that the BOD will ever change.

He gets a lot of votes. If you rejoin the NRA there will be one more vote against him. I'll shed no tears if he doesn't get re-elected.

I sent in my ballot last month, 1st time I've ever voted. I only voted for one person, it might have been Frank Tait. Is he the only one that was nominated by member petition? IIRC all the others are either incumbents or are already pretty tied into the NRA and were recommended by the nomination committee.

Yes I am the only one nominated by petition that was not on the board or previously on the board.

I find it difficult to make a choice on a candidate for NRA board, based solely on their bio or what I can get from other sources. I still don't know them, so I can't get a feel for their true position. As long as they put 2A rights as the ultimate priority, and don't try to hide their lobby for firearms manufacturers within the 2A agenda, I'm okay with whoever sits in the seat.

I'm the Benefactor Life member and NRA Training Counselor that stood up at the NRAAM last year and put my name of the resolution calling out the improprieties that are not being addressed by the board and expressing No Confidence in the Audit, Executive and Finance committees of the board for their oversight and governance of the organization.

To get the oversight that we are entitled to, we need new board members that are committed to being focused on our members, and our second amendment rights.

I am running on the agenda outlined by Save the Second with these objectives:

Reduce the size of the board to a manageable level;

Term limits for board members;

Require minimum attendance at board meetings;

Exercising appropriate oversight of management;

Refocus on LISTENING to the membership; and,

Get back to our roots of firearms training and education.

The rest of my platform is straightforward:
Nomination by Petition of the Members
I will ALWAYS run by petition, look members in the eye & meet them in person at events all over the nation. I will stay as long as I am of use to the members, continuing to earn their their trust even if nominated by the internal nominating committee in the future.
On My Dime
The NRA is a non-profit. I will provide financial support to the organization as one of my top 3 charities each year.
I will not take any money from the organization. I will pay my own expenses. Our members money needs to be focused on programs and defending our rights.
Transparency and Accountability
I will be visible to the members attending events like Friends of NRA and NRA events and gun club meetings around the country. I will continue to advocate for our rights at the federal, state and local level. I will be an advocate for the members to the board. The lines of communication will always be open for NRA members. I will keep members informed.
Term Limit and Attendance
I will walk the talk of the Save the Second movement on term limits and even if term limits are not implemented, I commit to serving no more than 3 terms on the board of directors and to attending every board and assigned committee meeting. Boards need new blood and 3 terms is more than enough to make an impact.

Thanks for posting. I need to vote this year and pulled out my American Rifleman. I could not find the ballot anywhere so checked my membership expiration date--then I noticed that it was the March edition. Ooops, that is a true Senior moment.

I found what I didn't like was Wayne LaPierre. Does anyone have a good source that lists the NRA BOD with biographies? I can't seem to find a good one.

Already voted- weeks ago. Please vote every year. The annual election does matter.

Nugent might not be perfect but there is no doubt about where he stands on the 2nd, and others do not have to carry him because he will not get involved.

Every time he opens his mouth he sets our cause back. He constantly perpetuates every stereotype the left has of gun owners and hunters. He's a Stolen Valor draft dodger, and the only reason he poses like he does is because he knows he'll never have to pick up a basic load of ammunition and walk into the darkness.

He was elected to speak for you. Every time he does so, he makes you look like a fool.

He will never speak for me, I will never belong to an organization that has him as any kind of spokesman.

I will rejoin as soon as Nugent and LaPierre are gone, the election process is overhauled and there is a mechanism for instructors to adjust the class curriculums.
