Unknown Gun (Mauser?)

I inherited this gun from my grandfather among other guns but this one I’m not too sure what it is exactly. My guess is it’s a Mauser because of the receiver but I don’t know what kind of Mauser or if that’s not a Mauser stock.

Mauser for sure. What caliber ? 7 or 8 mm. Stock looks to be a "sporterized" military one. If the bore is good you have a fine deer rifle. If you need to rebarrel you have about 10 caliber choices.
Back in the '70s small ring Mausers from South America like yours were going for $75. Have it checked out by a gunsmith, shoot it, cherish it.

Not sure if it’s a 7mm or a 8mm, there was no ammo when I got it. It practically collected dust since my grandfathers main hunting rifle was a lee enfield which I have acquired.
