Thought my scope was screwed up...

But apparently it's my eye. I rarely dig my .22 out anymore unless I need to prove a point to someone with a fancy custom built 10-22. Something along the line of "your $700 rig won't outshoot my $250 one. " So the last time I had it out, it's dead on...one ragged hole. Most recently, the crosshairs were super fuzzy, almost double in size. Everything is wide left and obviously can't shoot a decent group. I decided to look with my left eye and it's crystal clear. Uh oh.

So I was prescribed glasses with a correction in the right lense for a severe astigmatism. No magnification so the left side is just glass. Clarity is good on the right side now, but when wearing the glasses everything seems to bend toward the left. Everything I shoot now is off to the left. Handguns I've shot for years are now a good 4" left at 25 yards. Glasses have been checked and rechecked. Just wondering if this is normal? Anyone else have to move all their hanging sights and re-zero their scopes after getting glasses?

Yeah, hate to hear your appt was cancelled. I was supposed to go next week to see if I could do a contact lense just for my bad eye, but that's out for the foreseeable future.

The difference is minimal and I can simply focus scopes to match my right eye. I shoot everything with both eyes open and do fine with a shotgun and so far I'm not handicapped with a handgun since both eyes are open and I hold a handgun in the middle. But with a rifle, even with both eyes open, my right eye is the one behind the sights. Being able to adjust a scope will let me compensate for now, but I've pretty much given up on iron sights with a rifle.

I've adjusted my scope every which way and the crosshairs are fuzzy no matter what I do. Unless I use my left eye... I'm really confused by how much my point of aim is affected when I tried shooting with the glasses on. Took them off and everything is back to what I'm used to.

It's possible, but it hasn't change in the couple of months since. And it's only might right eye, which I'm told has a large astigmatism.

Re-adjust the scopes to your eye or use readers with them getting you back to where you were when you set it up, or didn't have to, or simply didn't.

Read up on adjusting the eyepiece on a scope.

Edit to original post to try to clarify my question. Moved the scope, adjusted focus, eye relief, etc. I can get that worked out to function with the glasses. Handgun shooting is a bigger problem though.
