Public Range Closures

My state has closed non essential businesses also. My range/LGS says the gun store is deemed essential but waiting for clarification on the indoor range.
the one i go to is indoors as well. in fact, i am leaving for there right now.

i'll post back at a later time today, cuz after the range, i am heading to the gun shop to see if my background check came in as well.

Our gun club is outdoors and remains open, although all group activities have been canceled. We’re allowed to bring 3 guests, and they prohibited that for now as well. It’s supposed to be warmer here Wednesday so I’m taking my youngest son then. It’s open enough that we don’t need to be close to other members. If it does happen to be crowded, which I don’t expect, we’ll leave.

Our indoor range is open, one empty lane between shooting. Outdoor waiting area with chair 6-8 ft apart. Private owner is considering it 2A issue. The indoor classes are currently cancelled.

ok, my gun range was open, but the governor announced all non-essential businesses to be shut down, at 5 PM today. we still do not know if this includes the range or not. they are still advertising that they are opened.

also, i picked up my new Canik TP9 SF, at another LGS, and of course, we had to stand in line and the first 10 people in line went in..i was #7..

they had on the doors signs that said "no 9MM ammo" and some others were out as well.....however, once inside, they HAD the 9 MM and he gave me a discounted price since i waited inside the store a long time for service, since i was also there to pick up my new semi-automatic.

i got 1,000 rounds.

i was glad that the paperwork came in. as the governor had also extended the waiting period to 30 days

by the way, there was a line at the doors 2 hours before the LGS opened at 12 PM..at the very least 40 people today. Saturday, you could not even see the end of the line!!

which is why i was # 7....today

ok it's official, my range is closed until the end of March. it is a non-essential business, according to the governor. the the state chapter of the NRI is already arguing this closure, since many people are buying guns and they should have a place to go and get instruction and practice.

in other news, the LGS store posted on thier facebook page, that customers should not park on the main street or side street (residential area) and if they do, they will be ticketed and (i think) probably towed away.

they can park 2 blocks away at a closed school, and walk, then stand in line....

I hear of all those range closings and feel bad for everyone. Around hear we have people complaining of their neighbors practicing in their back yard , 1/4 mile away.

I can't get my pickup truck worked on because the owner of the car lot/ repair shop doesn't know if he can have his business open! This is insane.

I'm glad I have provisions to load something up as I set up my loading area after a recent move. I'm getting tired of prepping brass and sizing bullits though...

My gun club, in order to comply with state mandated closings, cancelled all meetings and matches. Two weeks ago allowed members but restricted guest to immediate family members. Now as guest would be considered “public” no guests are allowed.
Range attendance restricted to 10 members present at any time.
It’s going to be a long summer.

As I write this the DNR ranges in Indiana are open with one exception (Tri-County FWA). That may change. They closed for one day earlier in the month for cleaning and installed plastic sheeting on the benches and table to make them easier to clean. Shooters are given cleaner and paper towels to clean before they start shooting. I am hoping they are still open on Friday when I have time to go and shoot.

well my governor has closed ALL unessential businesses, AND entertainment, (as of 5 PM today Monday March 23rd) like barbershops, hair salons, tattoo parlors, movie theaters, but i never heard gun ranges, but i'd suspect the gun range i have been going to will be closed as well.
an update to this.......^^^^^^^

"
Gov. Gina Raimondo’s administration is allowing gun ranges to open up again, backtracking on a previous move to close them along with entertainment, recreation and close-contact businesses.

Frank Saccoccio, president of the Rhode Island Second Amendment Coalition, said the move came after his group signaled safety concerns with the Raimondo administration: Many people are buying guns for the first time amid the coronavirus pandemic, but they’d have no way to learn how to use them safely without gun ranges."

so off to the range i go before 9 AM....i cannot call them now, to check and see if they will be opened today, they are closed as normal.

and once i get there, if they are remaining closed until maybe an opening for saturday, that's ok, i'll go back mondy at my normal time...of 9 AM...

whoopie...!!!!!!

Got an email from my range yesterday. Reduced hours and only every other lane will be open.

I’ll miss it for awhile, and miss talking to the staff. If the damn snow would stop I’d be out in the woods.

Patience 460Shooter.......... patience.

my wife told me minutes ago...i can't go today.....:(

she had "other plans" for me....oh great......we have to shopping.....:cuss:

The only indoor shooting range for 50 miles has no update on their website. No outdoor shooting ranges around here.

But Washington has shut down all boat launches and public parks. Doesn't make any sense to me. The outdoors are the epitome of social distancing.

They also closed the dang landfills in both states. Why? Spring cleanup is about to start around here and I see no reason to keep people from hauling in truckloads of tree branches and other crap and offloading it in piles as normal. There is no risk at all of exposure. It's a freaking dump.

Thats pretty screwed up...

With the whole household home I have to go to the dump regularly. (I am rural so dont have trash service)

My outdoor range is still open. Not exactly interested in going though as my house is in lockdown. I have a job today, but may not tomorrow.
