ok, i cheated a little with this 1950 masterpiece .38 spl in its original gold box with rod-screw driver.
Heavy barrel with an odd dash number??? I was under the impression that even numbers were heavy and odd numbers were pencil or tapered barrels. I may be wrong.Thank you.
The heavy barrel is a 10-5 from 1966. It's little brother is a 10-5 from 1963. I imagine I paid more for them than some other folks would, but I don't regret it.
No Model 10s though I owned quite a few over the years. My favorite was always the heavy barrel version. All I currently have is a pre-Model 10 that is not a Victory Model as it doesn't have any of the military markings on it and does not have the "V" prefix serial number. More than likely it was a gun assigned to a guard at some bank, defense factory, or non-military installation, somewhere in the U.S.

Does a Model 14 count? I think it's just a Model 10 with adjustable sights and a very long barrel.
I love the way those guns with the slick grips and lanyard ring look. I don't even know why.
Did you know that's John Mitchum brother of Robert Mitchum?I loved they had *Fatso* running his Model 10 snub against the magnum boys in Magnum Force.
Todd.
