Beautiful revolvers ALL! Great pics and great stories
I quite fancy the LE medallions on a model 10 and if I get one it stays on the gun

501443B6-92FC-4509-8BC9-CCAFBDAF1C50.jpeg My ugly duckling. I still need to finish this project up. 10-6. Super accurate, well balanced, great action. All I have done to it is the red dot and a little bit of cleaning. I did buy a wonderful competition type holster and I still intend to get some additional cylinders to convert it over to 9mm and possibly .380 since my wife shoots .380 and I need more volume in .380 to justify reloading.

the screw drivers were for taking the grips off,and side plate and adjusting the rear sights . the eary drivers bring pretty good money.

Thank you.

The heavy barrel is a 10-5 from 1966. It's little brother is a 10-5 from 1963. I imagine I paid more for them than some other folks would, but I don't regret it.
Heavy barrel with an odd dash number??? I was under the impression that even numbers were heavy and odd numbers were pencil or tapered barrels. I may be wrong.

No Model 10s though I owned quite a few over the years. My favorite was always the heavy barrel version. All I currently have is a pre-Model 10 that is not a Victory Model as it doesn't have any of the military markings on it and does not have the "V" prefix serial number. More than likely it was a gun assigned to a guard at some bank, defense factory, or non-military installation, somewhere in the U.S.

I love the way those guns with the slick grips and lanyard ring look. I don't even know why.

Does a Model 14 count? I think it's just a Model 10 with adjustable sights and a very long barrel.

If it does I'm going to post a picture of my model 15. Just a model 10 with adjustable sights and a short barrel.:D:p:neener:

Me neither but I still get a kick out of looking at it too!

Years ago I went to a weekend gun show, just looking around and came across a blued pre-Model 10 with a 6" barrel. Thought it might make for a decent bedside home defense gun so I haggled a little bit with the old gentleman who had it on his table and got it for around $230-$240. Took it home, cleaned it up, and decided that while the gun was in great shape I really didn't want that long of a barrel.

Went back the next day to the gun show and spotted the gun I have in my post sitting by itself on a table filled mostly with Ruger revolvers. Now this was more like it even if it wasn't a Victory Model! Loved the matte blue finish, plain wood stocks, and that lanyard ring! Knew the table holder and asked him if he was interested in a straight-up trade of my gun for his and surprisingly enough he said Yes!

As I stated in an earlier post, I found this model 10-5 in my dads safe after he passed away. I thought the grips were after market but looking through the box I found the original receipt stating otherwise. Maybe some of you guys can tell me for sure. Any way she was 95.68 out the door:)[ ATTACH=full]904748[/ATTACH]

This is my model 10-7 C&E revolver. It was a Hong Kong Customs and Excise issue firearm. When I bought it the gun appeared to have never been fired or handled much. The grip panels were in poor shape. I think someone swapped the grips out before the gun was shipped back to the states. I installed the BK “T” grip. I am looking for another set of grips that I can leave the lanyard ring. As it is now my hands are too big and I have to readjust my grip often when shooting it. I was looking at Altamont grips trying to find a set that ends at the bottom of the grip frame that aren’t the same shape as the grips that are on it now. I won’t remove the lanyard ring. I may just leave as is.

I really do like this revolver a lot.

You guys are making me want to get another skinny barrel model 10 with 4" barrel. I stupidly sold the one I had marked RHKP. The lanyard was missing but the gun was in good shape with worn grips. But it was a shooter for sure.

There are always plenty of Model 10's on Gunbroker and if you're patient it isn't difficult to get one for <$300. I'd suggest avoiding the Pre-10's with the half-moon type sights. The 10- Models with the ramp sights are much better.

My 10-7 came from Classic and it's pretty scuffed and scratched but shoots extremely well. My 10-5 came from Gunbroker and is in nicer condition, but has those grips that feel like they were made of 2x2's. I wear one of mine every day while working around the place here and in fact the 10-5 (and me) got a nice hydraulic oil bath when I blew a hydraulic hose on the tractor day before yesterday.

The only pictures I have of mine are those I've already posted on another thread. I should have a little time to shoot tomorrow after work and will try to get additional pics then.

Lord...I don't even know how many Model 10's I've had over the years. At least a dozen. Probably more. And that's not counting Taurus copies, or Colt and Rugers in the same class.

Alas, I don't have any now. I sold off a lot of my stuff as I got older, and have pretty much simplified my inventory. Now the closest thing I have to a Model 10, is a Model 15...a Model 10 with adjustable sights.

It's funny. When I was young, I used to wear out the "Shooter's Bible" just "wishin'". I'd stare at the images of the Model 10 HB and think..."That's the gun I want." It looked like a real gun. That silly thing with those tiny grips and that skinny barrel? Who would have ever wanted one of THOSE?

Well, when I got older, and started using them I completely reversed my opinion. I've owned both and don't care a whit for the heavy barrel version, in Model 10/64, or the Model 13/65. But the tapered barrel Model 10...that just looked and felt "right."

CajunBass, I do regret not choosing one tapered barrel model 10 when I had the chance. I think all the K frames I've handled feel right.
