"Self loading" Holster for Makarov?

I am more of gun collector and indoor target shooter, so I don't know much about holsters. Is this a modern style that I just never heard of?

If you follow the sequence of pictures, the gun appears to be uncocked at first, and presumably has an empty chamber. The wearer pushes it straight down out out of the holster, and appears to wind up with a cocked gun, I assume with a chambered round. The safety has to be on FIRE as well, or the gun would not be cocked.

I have never seen this before. Frankly, it would make a lot more sense on a single action automatic like a Tokarev or a 1911, but it is still interesting.

( I have no connection with this auction, and I do not plan to buy one of these Makarov holsters because I don't feel like buying things from Russia.)

There is a second style of holster that seems simpler, but is actually more confusing to me, because I can't tell if it is doing anything:

The auction descriptions are written in imitation English and are not much help.

So, are these styles well known, or are they as odd as they seem to me?

This is the standard Russian special forces holster or a copy thereof. You are exactly correct on the function. Russian (outdated) manual of arms forbids carrying with a round in the chamber, this is a workaround. For a general purpose range holster, I would recommend this one made by our friends in Israel.
