Hog size by tracks

How far apart were the tracks from each other (photo 1). Were they from the same foot? How did the track depth compare to your sister's footprint depth? How much does your sister weigh?
Not a hog expert but those 4 answers would get you a lot closer to a good estimate, not that I would be able to guess. There's probably someone on here who could guess given those answers.

The footprints were roughly 3 feet apart, yes the tracks were from the same foot cause they were the only tracks on the road except for a bunch of itty bitty piglet tracks.
My sister's foot prints basically just made outlines in the dirt while the hog tracks made obvious indentations.
My sister weighs 130 lbs

I'm positive, the properties bordering my lease don't have cattle. The fences are in good condition too.

Does not appear to be a hog. Tracks are not quite the right shape. Tracks are far too far apart. Tracks are far too large. On top of that, the tracks are weathered and distorted. If the fences are so good as to keep out cattle, they would keep out a giant hog, not that cattle haven't ever jumped a fence or pushed through one.

I'm gonna go the safe route and say it's a beeg hog, that way I won't get too comfortable. If I do find and shoot a hogzilla with bovine feet I'll be sure to post it here.

Well, historically cattle-sized hogs tend to be docile and generally slow movers until people start peppering them with poorly placed shots. Hogzillas tend to be older (hence how they got so big), farm hogs or pet hogs. In other words, as they get to be cow-sized, the danger level is apt to decline as the hog has no concerns or fears other than staying upright and eating.

Could it be possible those tracks belong to a hog of about 250-275 lbs that was running ?

Well, you have calf-sized and you have cow-sized, and you have monster-sized. The OP tracks do not appear to be calf or monster-sized.

This type of “hunt” disgusts me. Not that they are shooting an obviously tame hand raised pet pig, though I do find that to be a bit off putting. Rather it’s the presumption of absolute stupidity towards their audience. Does anybody not know that “hunt” is about as fake as a 1950’s Godzilla movie? You can throw all the “golly” and “ gee whizes” and “that’s a monster” you want in there. The good doctor just walked up to a hand raised pet and executed it. It might as well have been a kids Shetland pony.

I agree 100%. Most of these monster Hogzilla hogs are hogs people kept well beyond time to sell and were pets or virtually pets.
About the only way that you are going to get a hog with 4-5" hooves is to have it raised like that and even then, I don't know if the hooves ever get that big. 300 lb actual feral hogs don't have them. Generally, feral hogs 300 lbs or more are rare, exceptionally rare at 400 lbs. Few people will see actual 500 lb feral hogs that grew up and lived in the wild and even then, most are going to be bar hogs.
Of course, "feral" basically just means a domesticated animal that lives in the wild, but you have escaped 'feral' hogs and you have hogs born in the wild and and living in the wild. Aside from the ones mentioned above. Adam Stanger killed a 780 lb hog, when you look at the pictures, you can see the upcurved slope of the head. At 500 lbs, this is one of the largest feral looking hogs I have seen that doesn't look like it came off a farm. There is this 986 lb boar that was killed that looks feral, but apparently the people from Arkansas believe it to be faked because the imagery doesn't match the time of year. Here are a couple of the biggest bodied feral hogs I've ever killed. This out of hundreds and hundreds of hogs killed. They were all completely free range and wild.
I never weighed them but would be surprised if either were over 300 lbs. That estimate is based on raising 4H hogs with the kids. We had one domestic hog that went 330lbs. The size and the build is so different than these wild hogs. Wild hogs have skinny builds with narrow lean hindquarters and deep chests with lean front quarters. The domestic hog of about the same frame has huge double muscled hind quarters and shoulders and carries a lot more fat in their bellies.

I have also always liked photography for the ability to control perspective or alter reality.
Once one figures out that they can photograph two 12 inch scales and make one appear larger than the other, they know why the thing they want to appear big, is always in front of the reference object.
Why things that are actually impressive are captured without the illusion.

One day i was headed to the hunting lease. Pulled up the stop sign at highway 36 and 287. Off to my left was a monster boar hog. Made a left, went to the nearest house and knocked. Lady came to the door and i asked about the hog. Lady got a bucket with some feed, approached the hog, who obediently followed the lady to his pen. Someone left the gate open. Lady said the hog weighed close to 900 pounds.
