I carry some that are not as useful as good running shoes vs flip flops sometimes too.

Is the 22 Derringer or LCP your EDC?

If so or if not at least your still armed.

My EDC is an any season any dress affair so I don’t have to think about what I need to carry and I have no excuse not to.

A 380 (or 22) in the pocket is always better that the 45 or 44 Mag left at home. I keep my Kel-Tec around for when I can't carry anything bigger do to activities or how I must dress.
Who in Hell carries a .44 Mag for CCW anyway? Areas that Bears and/or Mountain Lions I could see, by anywhere else?

A gun is better than no gun. I carry 24/7 with carry including the gun in the night table when I sleep. My LCP2 is IWB all day in the house or out of it. My PPS M2 is on my night table. I am going to sell the PPS M2 soon as I have determined that for me the 380 Extreme Penetrator Lehigh round will be more than sufficient to incapacitate a perp at 25 feet. Not being interested I having a running gun battle with a perp means I do not need more power. I will use the gun to stop an attack or retreat from one. The 380 with the right ammo can save your butt. The 22 LR can too, but I think the 380 offers a lot more assurance.

I'm gonna really offend some people, but I think that's one of the stupidest ideas I've ever heard.

If you're going to need a gun, you're going to need the same amount of gun no matter how short your grocery list is. If a mousegun is what you carry normally for whatever reason, that's fine.

"If I'm just going to the store for a gallon of milk I just drop my .22 Deringer, Ruger LCP, or similiar small caliber pistol in my pocket." Good idea? Bad idea? I always thought and taught when you go armed, no matter where, you go armed. That means your EDC.
If you call that armed, then I guess you've answered your own question.

If I'm mowing the yard or walking to the mailbox, I'll toss a P32 or Taurus TCP in the pocket and go. If I'm going somewhere that involves driving off the property, it's going to be an EDC such as a P365 or Gen4 G19 (depending on the apparel).

If the wife and daughter are in tow, it will almost always be the G19 and often a spare magazine.

If someone has trained with and measured his/her performance with the mini pistol in their pocket, then I say go right ahead!

Each defender sets the standards for what are acceptable draw times from concealment to first shot for them. They set acceptable times and accuracy for failure-to-stop and Bill drills (or whatever drills they prefer) at whatever distances are suitable for them. Acceptable times for malfunction clearing, reloads, etc. for her or him.

For me, I have never been able to meet my standards on these kinds of exercises with mini-guns in a pocket. So I don't carry them, even on the proverbial "milk run".

If someone carries a little gun, but can't say how well they perform with it, then, I say, shame on you! This is America! Get to the range and find out! Get some competent advise and training! You might be surprised how poorly, or how well, it works for you.

But whatever you decide, make those decisions about what and how to carry based on real performance, NOT hopes, dreams, or imagination.

I usually carry my P32 or LCP when at work... back before I started working from home. When I go out to run errands I will usually gun up to my DB9 in 9mm. I figure that I am pretty safe at work behind two security doors but I am much more exposed in public. If you don't carry when you are out and about running errands when do you carry?... when you know for sure that someone is going to be attacking you?

I pretty much exclusively pocket carry... hence the DB9. The only time I gun up to my XDS in .45acp IWB is when I go into the big city or out in the woods.

P.S. I carry when I am taking the garbage can to the street... even though I live in the middle of nowhere.

No matter where I go, I go armed. Sometimes it's with my EDC, sometimes circumstances dictate that I must be armed with something else--whether it's a much smaller, more concealable gun, or, perhaps even something other than a firearm.

been thinking about getting one of those little NAA mini-revolvers for short pockets for this summer. maybe a .32 ACP pocket pistol .. still debating, but smaller the better cause I'll actually bring it.

Sounds fine to me, the only thing I would add to that is to put a holster in that pocket. I routinely carry a 380, but always in a pocket holster. As far as caliber consideration, 380 is as small as I go. I wouldn't be totally opposed to a .32 in the "any gun is better than no gun" sense. For me, and this is my personal opinion, a short barreled, limited capacity, .22 would probably cause me more problems than it would solve as a defensive weapon.
