Guns hidden throughout the home

Book shelves probably get tipped over during ransack leaving your guns in the center of a pile on the floor.
Just my opinion of course

That's my opinion as well. Fortunately, I have enough books around my place that they don't look out of place on the floor in a stack or casually "lost" under a bed.

Maybe I should build another bookshelf.

Trust me, if you love both books and guns as both my wife and I do, sooner or later you're going to have to decide whether to install another bookshelf or another gun safe in that last bit of space you have left in your house. And then, you're going to read the following advice on an internet message forum: "NEVER sell a gun.":scrutiny:
BTW, we're hauling a stack of books to "GOODWILL" tomorrow.;)

It's just the two of us here...we are out in the middle of the country. And only two neighbors.
Yes we have loaded firearms in a number of locations, some hidden, some not.

I work from home, so I'm here most days. It makes more sense to have guns stashed around the house, in strategic locations so that I may access one quickly if the need were to arise. The handguns are hidden from sight but not locked. We don't have kids, grand kids, drunks or idiots in our home so for our situation, it would make little sense to over-complicate things with a "fast access" safe. Not to mention the fact that I am way too out of it when I wake up from a dead sleep. I believe in lasers, night sights and weaponlights. Not extraneous safety measures.

Just thinking---When you have a bunch of guns hidden around the house are they all the same make and model with the same manual of arms or are they all different ?

I'm not at all sure what the definition of "a bunch of guns" is, but of the guns we have here and there around the house, some are the same make, none are the same model, some have the same manual of arms as others, some have a different manual of arms than others, and some are not even hidden.

I only have 3 loaded in the house. At bed time all in reach of the bed in the morning the shotgun and long gun go into a vault the 3rd with me so I always have one within arms length. I'm disabled enough that i can't get across the room before a door could be kicked in so one in every room is not practical for me, and if the kids with the grand children make an unexpected visit (happens often) I don't have to worry about the little ones getting a hold of anything loaded. though I have to watch them a couple of them are very, very interested. But that is an itch to scratch when they get a bit older.

I wonder how many people that talk a big line will actually soil themselves when the SHTF.

I served in le for thirty years and had my share of close calls but I have no problem admitting (?) that a change of underwear might be in order should I ever have to defend myself and/or my loved ones in the event of a home invasion or other "SHTF" scenarios. Talking big or staying quiet (camouflaging your "manhood"?) has no bearing whatsoever in terms of how one might react to a life-threatening moment. Only your inner-being and sense of courage will count.

One can only guess how they'll react. I can tell you I've had to square off with a wannabe biker with a rifle, with nothing but a Keltec .32 in my pocket. I also had an idiot in traffic try to chase me down pointing what looked like a medium frame .38 revolver at me. Both dimwits were bluffing and neither time did I panic.
