I am going to do myself a big favor and splurge, maybe, and buy the best BCG available for my Aero precision 223 with a 16 inch barrel.

If money was not an object what would you guys buy?

Also where would you buy 2 spare firing pins? Brownells and Midway do not have any.

If money were no object, I wouldn’t stop at just the BCG.

I would probably go full on lightweight just to see what could be done. I don’t for the JP LMOS steel enhanced bolt.

I met a guy that makes BCG’s. Couple 2 or 3 years ago he produced 235,000. He provides many of the big name companies you read about

AR’s are basically LEGO sets that “manufacturers” buy and assemble. Some may have different specifications or variations. Quality control.

I would be more concerned about specs than name

YMMV

I'd like to try the Young Mfg chrome bcg with their HMB bolt, but that haven't been in stock for a while.

I picked up all my bcg small parts from JSE surplus.

Thank you all for the thoughtful replies.

js8588- As George Allen kinda said many years ago- "That will exceed my unlimited budget." And that is where I will go.

Of all the carriers out there, the only one I've tried that offers any improvement over the standard "mil-spec" is the LMT Enhanced. Use a standard bolt with it.

This will be good.

Well, I didn’t mean it like that.:)
I was just wondering.

Yes, it is pretty silly (Poor Form?)to recommend a completely different rifle when the Original Poster is looking for a bolt carrier group for a rifle he already owns.
But I don’t know everything, he may have something I haven’t heard of yet.

Okay, I’ll bite, since the OP is getting a LanTac...

What would you get instead of an AR?

I would always choose an M1A/M14 over an AR...any day of the week. Or, a nice LR rife...maybe blueprinted rem 700?

Pistol wise, Wilson or ed brown 1911.

Lastly, top of the line optics. Pick your poison, but I could upgrade many of the long guns in my safe with way better optics.

The list is long. ARs are not on my list. But, for the OP it is. To each their own. When money is no object, ARs don’t get me excited when there’s a really competitive market.

Oh, one other thing, lots of reloading components!!!

If AR’s are not your thing, why post in a topic about them?

I’ve used the Failzero BCG in some of my build and really like them. The EXO Nickel Boron coating is slicker then regular Nickel Boron.

I use Alex Arms nickel boron BCG's in my builds. If I wanted to burn money, I always wanted to try a Lantac, but the Alex Arms work just fine.

If AR’s are not your thing, why post

I was thinking the three hundred dollars of a LANTAC BCG wouldn’t get anything on that list except reloading components, and that’s less than two thousand Varmint Nightmares at MidSouth.

If we use your FailZero example we can’t even pay for a jug of powder!:D
Lastly, top of the line optics.
... are not going to be $300...

Alright gents. I’m not looking to pick a fight here. Apologize for ruffling feathers.

Sure, they don’t cost as much as what I listed...however, I would put that money plus more into what I listed.

I just spent $160 on 8Lbs of CFE Pistol. That’s less than a high end BCG. Wilson Combat’s deluxe BCG is $200.

I’ll answer the OP’s original question again. If money was no consideration, what BCG would you buy? I wouldn’t buy one. My stock units work just fine on the 3 black rifles I own.

If money is no object then get like 3-4 of the top brand’s Best BCGs and see what works best in your rifle.

If you’re going for increased reliability in crap condition the PWS bolt carrier has sand cuts and is a bit heavier then standard.

ARs are like Barbie for guys. Some people feel compelled to collect all the doo-dads.

I don’t even particularly like ARs, but it’s hard to argue against a rifle that’s dead easy to get to 1MOA and that offers so much flexibility.
