I have only gambled once at a range.
Dude one lane over made fun of my ATI 1911, called it cheap compared to his kimber.
I pulled out my money clip and had $17.
I slapped it down and said 7 rounds, high score goes home $17 richer.!I

I did!

Heck Doc, I would have said. "Well you are right, there is no way my ATI is going to compete against a fine gun like that Kimber and I have been wanting to get rid of this piece of junk. I do not have any cash on me, But what the heck, I will make a bet and winner takes the others gun. You will be doing me a favor".

Back in the day my friends and I would shoot bullseye's for beer's afterwards.
I would like to say I had to quit because I was getting to drunk collecting my winnings and my friends could no longer afford to shoot with me but my friends would say I was slightly exaggerating.:what: :p

@Ernie Bass, you are much smarter and a quicker thinker than I am.:D

Doc, it's the gun equivalent of racing for titles.

Most guns are potentially more accurate than a lot of shooters. Maybe I should say probably more accurate. I have to say, esp at my age and vision acuity, all of my guns can outshoot me. If I've shot a bit wider group than one would be inclined to frame, it wasn't the gun. Therefore, I don't bet on my shooting ability against anyone else's shooting ability. Not anymore. 45 years ago.... well... a different story.... maybe....

The ability I have seen from some "Old" guys is something that would make me hesitate against betting against them. We are not talking about a fist fight.or running a marathon. I do not know the age of the guy with the Kimber, but if I ran across a old guy carrying a a 1911, I might have the common sense to think, hey, this guy might just have a hell of a lot of experience with that gun. Maybe better to keep my mouth shut.
