I'm looking to get a list together of shorter bullets 150 grain to load 2.800 COAL 284 win.
I'm not interested in loading 140's, in my mind if I was gonna shoot 140's I could have got a 0.277 or 6.5 gun.

I tested some #1913 sierra gamekings and the accuracy was erratic vertically with 0.5 powder increases.

The nosler partition was what I was hoping to load but the bullet is 1.220". This is on the max of bullet lengths I want to use. At this length they start to intrude on powder space.

The 145gr Speer HotCor might be the closest to what I'm looking for......even though it's a touch light.

The Speer grand slam 150s I think discontinued may be good too.

I wanted to try the flat base bullet next to see if the gun likes them better. Idk the twist rate but I'm guessing it will like them better. The Winchester PowerPoint 150 shoots good, if I if it's sensitive to charge increase/decrease because this is factory ammo I'm referencing. That's supposed to be a flat based bullet. I see I can buy the win PowerPoint components to reload, that may be my best option.

On a quest to get the gun to shoot to same point of aim as factory win PowerPoint........buy the same bullet for my reloads!

I don't know who made them or show name they used, since I got these as blems I don't know. There a 150 sp looks hornady or federal/winchester like. They shoot great, dummy me when midway had them for $7-100 about 5 years ago I said I'll try 100. I should have gotten 1000s.

it's the one on the left, I made a thread one time trying to make the bullets, I have to go back and look and see what we thought it was.

I would use the 145 hot cor they are what I'm going back to after this season.

The bullet on the left looks like a hornady 154 grain interlock flat base. I have a box of the same bullets, but mine have boat tails.

Ya, it would be cool if the crimp to nose works out to be correct location. I think the grand slam is as "premium" a bullet I'll need for a sub 300yd gun. 2.5-8 powered hunting rig.

Dang, I don't like having the cannelure down inside the neck....it reduces neck tension greatly. The 284 neck is super short.

I'll have to think the grand slams over....Thanks for you help!!! You saved me from spending a bunch of money and getting aggravated on a guess.

Speer 130 HotCore .277”
Gun prefers 140’s and 150’s, but need to shoot up the 130’s...

Second coyote fell to .243” 90gr HotCore.
This year, I’ll be using some 7mm 130gr Bt Hot Cores.
Best economy bullet going...

The hot cor are a great bullet, just keep it under 3000 in case you have to shoot up close. And there hard to get for the money.

here are some 140s in my 6.5 prc I did two weeks ago, these were the first place from the rifle.
