Have an old friend, and he is a die hard S&W fan. For years, S&W were the ONLY handguns he would buy. When he moved to Montana, I fouled up his collection by gifting him a new Ruger MKII as a going away present.
Myself, I'm all over the map. Revolvers, semis, blue, stainless, Taurus to Freedom Arms and everything in between.
I have a feeling my buddy is a bit out of the norm. But curious if there are others out there that have ONLY one brand in their collection.

I only own one brand of handguns. Not some die hard brand fanboy, but it's what I started with and the platform has worked well for me, so I haven't seen a need/want to buy something else. Although, I've shot a CZ SP-01 a couple different times and really liked it... but I sure ain't looking to give an arm&leg to buy a firearm these days.

I can't even imagine restricting myself to one brand, in this case of handgun. Heck, I've got four brands of cap and ball revolvers, double action revolvers by four or five makers, same for semi-autos, only two makers of single actions (in about 12 calibers). Then there are the Contender single shots and the BP percussion pistols. Almost all bought used and picked up as my interests changed and prices were right.

Just having one brand never had a chance.

Between us SWMBO and I own three brands of handgun but we own more Glocks than everything else combined.

If I had it to do over again and I knew everything I know now. We would be strictly Glocks. I think part of my outlook comes from the fact that my first real exposure to guns was in the army where you take what they issue you and you make it work. Whether or not owning one brand is boring isn't even a blip on my radar.

It's not that I'm a Glock Fanboi (although I'm sure some will disagree) so much as it is a question of logistics (Tactics win battles. Logistics wins wars).

I can operate every Glock I own on 1 caliber of ammunition and 2 types of magazines. I can also buy Glock magazines for 1/3 the price of a S&W (my next most represented brand) magazine. The money saved goes into ammunition (you know that thing that's so hard to come by right now.)

Even though I own more than one brand I'm really not supporting anything but the Glocks because they give me the biggest bang for my buck.

Sort of.
I say that as I have a couple of sub collections. For those (WWI rifles, .32 ACP pistols of the Art Deco period and 20th Century U. S. 'cop guns') I have several different brands, obviously. For those I shoot, the choices narrow a bit.
For self defense, I have Smith & Wesson revolvers and Colt Government Models. I have one S&W semi-automatic, a Model 39 but mostly as an example of 'transitional' guns. I threaten to carry it, but never do. Hunting rifles are broader although I have a feeling for bolt action rifles of the '98 Mauser and variations type. Except for one Mannlicher - Schoenauer. I seem to be developing a taste for CZ rifles.
Not sure if that categorizes me.

I ceased to be a “just one brand” kid the day my Father purchased my 2nd firearm for me. Just gotten worse from there, even if I tried to list them all by memory, I’d likely forget a couple.

I never really chose any particular brand either to buy or disdain. However, it was only last year in about April I bought my first S&W , a 686 stainless steel with 3" barrel in .357 mag. because I wanted a revolver in that caliber and that gun impressed me. Since then I've added a S&W airweight in .38sp.

I have an old Rossi 38 snubbie in 38, bought new but cheap at a gun show years ago. The Airweight and the 686 are exponentially superior in quality than the Rossi IMHO (the Rossi IS NOT a bad gun, just not as good).

My situation is much like TrunkMonkey’s regarding handguns.

Glocks...almost exclusively. Used to carry the Shield (had 3) but G43X has replaced them so they were sold into the current frenzy, as was a Ruger SR22 that was replaced by a G44. Plan on eventually adding a few more 43X’s or a G48 and another G44.

I'm a simple guy...a frugal guy...and becoming a quasi-minimalist guy. I like guns that share parts and accessories. It works for me.

My shooting buddies have lots of different guns, and the more I shoot them all, the less I actually want any. A typical range day for us has me show up with a bunch of ammo, Glocks in 4-5 different calibers (.22, 9, 40, 45, 10), and AR’s in .22, .223, and 7.62

They show up with SA/DA revolvers, XD’s, 1911’s, CZ’s, a lever and/or bolt rifle or two, and maybe a few old mil rifles. We shoot each other’s stuff, trade out ammo, etc. Lots of fun.

But the more I shoot Glocks, the more I realize I’m fine with them. The other stuff just kinda becomes overwhelming to own and maintain.

Shotguns and non-AR style rifles...I have some of each. Any of my shotguns may come out regularly when we have a clay shooting day, but non-AR rifles rarely see the outside of the safe.

Just how it is for me. And it works, at least these days.

Hi...
Why would I limit myself to one brand of handgun?
My first handgun was an off brand .22LR/Mag SA revolver...a Kimel Industries revolver. It has proven itself to be reliable, durable and reasonably accurate. It whetted my appetite for another handgun and I soon acquired a Ruger Security Six in .357Magnum followed shortly thereafter by a Springfield Armory 1911 in .45ACP.
Not long afterwards, I came across a S&W 686 Silhouette Model and the floodgates were open.
I own multiple S&W, Rugers, Colts, Ubertis, Dan Wessons, Virginian Dragoons revolvers and even one Taurus. Only own a handful of semi auto pistols and so far only one Contender. My rather eclectic collection runs the gamut for .22LR through .45Colt with multiple handguns in just about every caliber in between. About the only calibers I don't own as of yet are the bottle necked handgun calibers...mostly because I don't need the added hassle of no carbide die sets.

Since I just put a new in box used Ruger flat top Blackhawk in .44Special on layaway yesterday, it appears I have no interest in stopping acquiring additional handguns. This is my second flat top BlackHawk in .44Special and my fourth .44Spl overall.

Already thinking about adding another Uberti SAA clone... possibly in nickle.

The struggle is real.

No, not a single brand person, though I have done things like buying Beretta "cat" guns just because. Bobcat,Tomcat,Puma,Cheetah so far. Jetfire might be "Naughty Kitten".

Bauer,Beretta,Bersa,Browning,Colt,CZ,Eibar,Glock,H&K,Kahr,Keltec,Mossberg,NAA,Pietta,Remington,Ruger,Seecamp,Smith,Springfield,Taurus,Uberti,Walther, some others. They all play nice in my safe and on the range.

I went through my list seeing if anything in any segment stood out. Only one brand of shotguns? No. Rifles? No. Handguns? Definitely not. What about rimfire, centerfire, revolver, pump, semi-auto, bolt? Nope to all.
Ah, but what about lever actions! I do in fact only have one brand of lever actions, 3 Marlins!
