Anyone own only one brand?

Like most people, I have always bought the firearms that I thought I'd like, and of course only the ones I could afford. 86% of my semi-automatic centerfire handguns are now CZ. The other one is a BHP. I have sold Kimber, Beretta, and HK handguns after buying their CZ counterparts because I no longer had much interest in shooting the others. My rimfire semi-automatics are mostly Belgium Brownings, plus one Buck Mark. Revolver wise, I'm a Smith & Wesson guy. I've had lots of guns of various makes. I've sold off the ones that I appreciated less, kept the ones that I appreciated the most. I don't buy multiples of a brand because I'm brand loyal, per se, but because I prefer those guns vs. offerings from other companies.

These three are all from the same manufacturer. Springfield MA.

All of Ms Katz revolvers are S&W

I own three hand guns that are not Glocks.

One is a S&W Model 4006. I bought it in a private sale right before Private Sales were outlawed in Colorado. As such, it is literally Irreplaceable as long as I live in Colorado. It's not for sale at any price but I don't think I've shot it in 3 years.

The second is a Ruger LC9 that SWMBO bought several years ago and then decided she preferred the Glock 43 (she has that privilege, I do not.) I would have preferred that we bought 2 Glock 43s but "woulda, coulda, shoulda." As I mentioned earlier you take what they give you and you make it work. Given I only carry this gun when I'm taking the trash out or checking the mail or going to the laundry room and I don't already have something else on me I've decided that it's just not worth the money I'd lose selling it and buying a Glock 43. I shot it yesterday.

The third is an M&P 9. It's a good gun. I already have an adequate amount of magazines for it. It's still a 9 mm so I'm not supporting another caliber and I've heard (read) Dr. Gary Roberts speak very highly of them. If my Glock 19 melted in the dishwasher I would be confident replacing it with the M&P9. I remember the last time I shot it I just don't remember when it was. All that said, if I knew everything I know now on the day I bought it I would have bought a Glock 19.

I went through my list seeing if anything in any segment stood out. Only one brand of shotguns? No. Rifles? No. Handguns? Definitely not. What about rimfire, centerfire, revolver, pump, semi-auto, bolt? Nope to all.
Ah, but what about lever actions! I do in fact only have one brand of lever actions, 3 Marlins!
Haha, thats true all my lever guns are Savage 99s. :)

If I were listing brands it would be something like- Astra, Anderson Mfg., Colt, Dan Wesson, Del-ton, DWM, Norinco, Weatherby, H&K, Sig-Sauer, S&W, La Coruna, Royal Arms Factory Ishapore, Savage, Marlin, Springfield Armory (the REAL one), GM/Inland, Universal Mfg., Remington, FN, Beretta, Eddystone (Remington), Mossberg, Ruger, and a few others Im forgetting probably.

I own more Walthers than anything else, hence the name. But solely buying them? I haven't been that bad. I have owned S&W, Rugers, Taurus, others, and even Glocks.

There is nothing on this blue rock, made by man, that is perfect. Company slogans are just that...marketing.

No need to get your panties in a bunch about the Glock shooters...but if you do feel the need to go negative, we can take it...

Somebody asked and I answered. I don't like the product, including it features, ergonomics, safety, marketing or overt fanboys. No need to respond further.

My two handguns are Ruger: .22 and .44.

Rifles: Browning, Marlin, and Henry.

Shotgun: Browning.

Next up: Charter Arms Bulldog .44 Special.

I agree, your buddy is out of the norm. Not the only guy like that but among a small group for sure. I own a few different brands.

I've probably owned a dozen different brands of handguns over the years, but they got weeded out to just S&W's for the last ten years or so.
Shotguns, centerfire rifles and rimfire rifles still a mixed group.

I shoot them well, and would use one if it were department issued, but Im not spending my personal money on one. When you work on cars for a living and the overwhelming percentage of customer complaints are caused by failed plastic parts, you kinda develop a bias.......

Yes, yes, I know not all polymers are created equal. Dont care, dont like em.

Does make me wonder, if we could only have one brand.
Think I'd pick, ruger or cz. Remington had a chance 20-30 years ago but not now.
Ruger for me on that front....wish Ruger still made the redlable....

I own more Browning's than anything else, And if everything else vanished I'd be fine with just my Brownings. I've got A-bolt rifle, a semi rifle, a center-fire pistol, a .22 pistol, and a O/U shotgun. All of which I shoot well...and if the damn hipower didn't make me bleed, I'd ENJOY shooting them all....maybe I need. Browning (or Miroku) revolver
Second would be Ruger with 2 rifles, and 2, revolvers....
The rest are 1s and 2s.....
I don't have any guns from a number of notable manufacturers, I should probably remedy that.

Anyway, not a one brand guy.

If their was one brand that, over their history, could come closest to providing all of my needs is Ruger. Really the only thing lacking is an effective repeating shotgun platform.

Ya, if you look at guns theyve actually manufactured (as opposed to just branded), its pretty hard to find as comprehensive a catalog as Ruger over the years. FN would probably be second in my book, lacking only revolvers, AFAIK.

If you only owned Fords you can't ever say they are the best, if you didn't own a Chevy :)

I like several firearms from several manufacturers. If I had to limit myself to one brand it would be Ruger and would have to find a Red Label O/U. Browning would be second with many voids for handguns.

...But curious if there are others out there that have ONLY one brand in their collection...

In my accumulation, I have several brands of handguns. But my collection is very specific, one brand, Smith & Wesson. Also very specific is one type, revolver. And one cartridge, 45 ACP. This collection spans nearly one hundred years, 1918-200? (forget when the last one was built) with, currently 11 revolvers. There are about 6, I lack.

I am aware of fellows who only collect S&W Model 10s or Model 29s or Triplelocks or... It all depends on what you want to do collect or accumulate?
