Anyone own only one brand?

Not just one brand, but now more CZ's than anything else ... used to have 17 Kimbers (believe that or not) but down to 4, several HK's but down to a a Tactical my wife bought me and MK23, both I've had for about 24 years.

I am down to two now, G26 and G34 serve all my needs.

Variety is the spice of life. I like to be proficient with anything going if need be. Along with my perchant of being an accidental collector and I have a lot of different guns. Range time is never booring or the same either. The only notable exception is Glock. I have handled and shot many of them over the years but for some reason they just don't feel good in my hands. Oh well.

Come to the dark side

If one can appreciate the 1911, for all its merits and detriments, they must equally appreciate the Glock the same. As well as the Mak and 92.

After shooting my uncles G27 I am coming to the dark side. Nearly the best group I have shot with a strange-to-me pistol. I hope the G19X will be just as wondrous.

I have some many wants, one is a raise!;)

Hmmm....in my fantasy....My DA revolvers are Smith & Wessons. My SA revolvers are Rugers. My auto pistols are Glocks.
I think I need to imagine up a Ruger Redhawk and mix things up a bit.
My rifles are a variety of Winchester, Marlin, Henry, Ruger, Savage and a Garand.
Shotguns are Mossberg, Stoeger and Stevens.

I have a feeling my buddy is a bit out of the norm. But curious if there are others out there that have ONLY one brand in their collection.
I have a few friends like your buddy, not many but a few. Personally I buy a gun simply because I like the gun. The feel, the weight, the balance and the list goes on. While I have quite a few S&W revolvers there are several Colt and others in the mix. The same is true of my long guns, if I like the gun and it's within my means I buy the gun. Again, I also have friends like your buddy who focus on a single handgun or long gun manufacturer so no, I do not see it as unusual.

i have too much different tastes to be able to settle with only one brand.

When i first started shooting , i wanted to own handguns that were ‘icons’ : glock 17 , sig sauer p226 , beretta 92 , a quality 1911 , ... as they all stand out or set the standard at one time or another.

Now i just buy what i like and what suits me , although i still have 2 favorite brands and most of my guns are from these 2 companies, being sig and glock

I only own one brand of revolvers--S&W. Yes, I have owned others, and may again. For the moment, no.
As far as semi autos, there are so many different designs and good guns out there, I cannot limit myself to one brand.
I do have a couple of favorite designs, and own multiples of those.

With features I like and some I don't[S&W lock for example] I diversify to have what I like and require for a specific need or want. Also with all the manufacturers doing custom shop upgrades etc its hard to stay with one brand. So I am a no.

I’m a one brand of handgun guy now, for a number of reasons.

Over the years I’ve owned a number of different guns from many manufacturers. Obviously a S&W620, CZ 85, CZ P-O1, Sig 226, G19, G17, a VBOB, Dan Wesson Guardian, Colt XSE, Colt Combat Commander, Some HK (VP9, P30, USP), 4 M&P’s (both compacts and full-size, 9, 22 and 40), Ruger MK3, Springfield Loaded, etc.

As of now it’s only a G19 and G17.

I mention all of those so folks can see I’ve made my decision not out of fanboyism, but my personal experiences.

I like having one pistol caliber to feed, and prefer the low recoil of 9mm. Nothing wrong with other calibers, but they don’t do anything better for me.

I like the cost and availability of parts for Glock, both OEM and aftermarket.

I like the simplicity of the design and the ability to repair any issues myself without any training or skill.

I like having one trigger pull and reset to learn.

I don’t see a need for an external safety in my opinion.

I like the durability and reliability of them. Not to say others aren’t durable or reliable, just that Glocks are. Wet, dry, clean, dirty, they just run and will eat anything I feed them.

I like the utilitarianism of them. I don’t care one bit about scratches, scuffs, holster wear, etc. They are simply “tools”. I know plenty of folks have this same feeling about their high dollar 1911’s, but a scratch on a 1500-2000 Dan Wesson would have given me some serious butt itch that just doesn’t happen with Glocks.

I’ll probably add another caliber eventually (I’d like a G20 at some point), but I don’t see me buying another brand at this point. Again, not to say this is the only good brand, it’s not. If Glock wasn’t an option I’d be perfectly fine with VP9’s or M&P’s as they’re both perfectly fine guns in my experience.
