Anyone own only one brand?

Variety is the spice of life.

As FROGO207 so succinctly put it, different brands of guns bring lots of flavorful choices to the table. I like Colt for 1911s, Browning, SIG, and CZ for 9mm.s, S&W for DA revolvers, and Ruger for SA sixguns. Plenty of each to choose from and I enjoy each and every one!

One brand only...not in my house!

I have more of an accumulation than a collection. I do have a couple of Ruger handguns though interestingly enough neither is a revolver. I have three Marlin made .22 rifles but only one of them wears the Marlin name. I bought a Marlin model 60 in the 90's so I would have a rifle for small game. When my Dad died I was given a shorter barreled Glenfield version he had at the time of his death. About 7 or 8 years ago I was working nights & getting off work at 5 a.m. As I was wide awake & everyone at home was asleep when I got there I started stopping in at the local Huddle House & drinking coffee with the old retired guys. One of them offered to sell me an old Glenfield bolt action .22 for $70. For that price how could I pass it up.

I don’t consider myself a “one brand” owner, but I am pretty much an all metal gun owner. That said, 80% of my hand guns are pre-lock S&W revolvers. Of the other 10, each one is a different maker/brand. Only one is plastic and it’s not a Glock. I only have 7 long guns and every one is a different brand.

Three rifles are Marlins, one is a Ruger, one is a Remington, and a Norinco AK.
Two Colt pistols, one each Colt and S&W revolvers, and 2 Ruger revolvers, an Astra pistol and a Keltec pistol.
Last, a Mossberg and a Stevens shotguns.
If one company doesn't have the caliber and functionality that I seek, why shouldn't I look at other companies?

All current rifles are Savage, the bolt guns are too easy to customize to my liking and they all started accurate and got better. Nothing I can't do to them outside of lathe work and my best friends a gunsmith with a lathe :) he trues my actions and rechambers, crown's, or rethreads barrels.

I wonder if some guys go beyond having favorites, and actually believe that this or that brand is the only one worth owning. For instance, only Glocks, only Colts, only S&Ws,etc? I buy what I like, and must have examples from a dozen+ manufacturers...

I have guns from several makers but it seems I only carry S&W J-frames of which I have several.

I get what suits the particular need, so I'm all over the place. But it seems to have worked out that Ruger is the only brand I have more than one of.

I had to think (and that hurt!:D) but it looks like I have more Smiths than any other brand of handguns. My long guns, both rifles and shotguns, are as you say, "all over the place."
Although, I do have 3 Winchester rifles if I include both the 22LR and the 308 Win my folks gave me well over a half century ago.:)

I am down to two now, G26 and G34 serve all my needs.
These have changed a bit over the years, some have gone, some have come, but even though I like Glocks, they are not the only horse in the stable. GlockTable2.JPG

I'll have to take a current picture of the Glock family.
And maybe the 1911s.

I need to pick up a 43.

All over the market through the years, Weatherby, Daewoo, Franchi, Zabala, CZ, Zastava, Ruger, Alfa Proj, Chiappa, Norinco, Rossi, boito, stirling, lithgow, marlin

I see the wisdom in limiting your defensive pistols to just one platform. It makes sense and I'd like to emulate it. But, until Glock comes up with a contender to the P365 that doesn't have half the capacity, I'll stick with my P365 for EDC. Not a fan of the larger pistols, so it's my only Sig. My G19 is the pistol I grab when there is a higher chance of conflict, so it would be nice to have a smaller and high capacity version. I may try a G26 or a G27 then get a G23.

But I'll hang on to my M&Ps and Rugers and Taurus just because I loathe selling firearms.

I own more than one brand of rifle, handgun and shotgun... along with more than one brand of vehicle, TVs and even refrigerators.
Variety is the spice of life... ;)

Stay safe.
