Walmart rifle closeouts

That time of year, watch your local Walmarts for closeouts, or search Brickseek. Just don't tell the store you used brickseek or they may refuse sale.

My local store has Savage Axis with scopes .308, .270, .223 for $125 with plastic stock and $165 with wood.

How do you use that site if you do not know the sku or UPC?

You can search key word. I searched Savage then scrolled down and entered zip code for local deals. You have to play around in the free site to figure out how it works. I suspect the paid site is more user friendly.

I just went and pecked around.
Top of Walmart page under search I selected PRODUCT from the pull down then SAVAGE as the term. A list of products appeared below before I hit enter. Scroll down until you find the gun you want and click on it. When it's displayed it will say not usually stocked. A box below will say search local any how with a zip code box. Enter zip code and enter.

Found some that say "limited stock", which the site says usually means the display model; so let me get this straight: You find that rifle for half off; is that going to be the price in the store or do you have to do something else to get that deal? (I've never done this this way before)

Well this isnt good... I just found a public 700yard range 1hr from me and now my local walmart has one in 308 for $125. Too bad its not a heavy barrel.

Out of stock for me, but it popped up as a suggested search that they have a Remington 700 223 for $199

I'd take the 700.
This time mine were marked Clearance with the correct price.
Last year the $100 10/22 was marked $229. I asked him to scan it because a friend bought one at a different store on Clearance. Sure enough, scanned at $100

It was the same deal a few years ago when they closed out Ruger Mini-14's at half price. You had to scan it to get the discounted price.

You won't on Wal-Mart's site.
If you go to Brickseek and click Walmart they will show up because it's an inventory site vs a online purchase web site

I won't purchase from Walmart even on clearance. Their virtue signaling has cost then my business for the last 4 or 5 years.

Thanks for the heads up. A lot of the local stores here sell guns so for any given version it seems like there was one within a 30-40 minute drive that has one.

At that price I might grab a .308 or a .243 and reduce the barrel to 16.5" for hunting out of ground blinds.

Good find. Several Savage Axis in various calibers for $139-170. A few 700 ADL's for $199. The most tempting for me is a 10/22 for $139 but it's on the other side of the city.

Pork, chicken, beef gun.....my .350 would probably do well as a base.....need a poverty pony lower....which I think I've paid for, but never picked up.
