what is the craziest "deal" you have seen recently for 9mm?

CTD has been running 50 rd bags of mixed "miscellaneous" 9mm for $40- FMJ, JHP, all weights, all brands, in a jumbled mess obtained from under the couch cushions.

$21 for a 50 rd box of Blazer of Federal FMJ. Though I cant complain, I did pay $38 for a 50 rd box of Winchester .38spl. Kinda still regret it

Currently a seller's market with demand outpacing supply - just the way it is. At least they have some available if someone is in desperate need - those prices keep the hoarders away and thus enable someone without to get some.

In some GOOD news for a change, I finally got a shipping notice this morning for my order from Fenix. I ordered a case of 9mm 115 gr practice ammo from them May 16. Never used them before, seemed to be a decent reload place.
When I found them, they had a deal for 5% off your first order; the ammo was $190 per case so it was $9.50 off. Shipping was $17.48 (a bit high), so after all said and done it was &197.98.

They got hammered by the covid rush/component shipping delays, so to their credit they've been in touch several times letting me know of delays, and offering full refund if wanted. I've declined the refunds and politely said I was fine with waiting, as long as it ships. They told me 2 weeks ago that it looked to be early August.

Today, I got 2 email notices from them: a UPS label created notice, and a partial refund. They have returned the $17.48 for shipping, without my asking or complaining. So that knocks it back down to $180.50, final cost.

I really hope this ammo is good (acceptable/functional, goes bang), because now I REALLY want to give them high praise. There's an option to reorder, and for now nothing happens... makes sense if they're dealing with a 3 month backlog. But if this stuff is any good at all, they're going to get more of my money.

Thank goodness I'm not dependent on 9mm.

A guy local to me is selling 9mm at $300 for 500 rds of practice ammo. I've also seen 1000 rd lots of 5.56 at north of $600

I am up north (Canada) at my summer cabin on the lake... Bought 20 boxes of Remington UMC 124 gr. ($13. CDN) equals about $10. U S I usually don;t buy much as i have reloaders set up here and in my place in Florida, but with these crazy times you gotta just buy when and where you can... me thinks i will go back and buy another 20-30 boxes if availble....

$20 for some no name, made in someones basement 9mm stuff at a LGS. Sure glad I load my own.

I sold off over 1000 rounds of 9mm last month, $12 a box for Wolf steel, $15 a box for brass Remington ammo.

I probably could have gotten more, but no regrets, glad I could help some folks out. Also sold off 1000 rounds of steel Wolf .223.

Local gun store near me, 45 minute drive wise, had 9mm, $14 per box. Not too shabby for these times.

I grabbed two boxes of 45 acp though. $20 a box is a steal where I am at.

What 9mm is going for around me I would not call “deals”.

That’s okay, I finally broke down and started reloading 9mm. I reload all the other rounds I shoot so I decided to finally dust off the reloading die box and break out those components and get to work. It’s coming out to about 15 cents a round using components I bought on sale before the silliness. Not bad.

Stock & field has 50 rd boxes of blazer 9mm for $9.99, limit 1. I thought that was a good deal, I'd have bought some but I don't own a 9mm and never will.

Just a couple days ago SOSS had cheap range ammo, 115 grain Winchester white box for 270 for 500 rounds plus shipping! That comes out to 29 a box for range ammo! What a joke!! I got the email at 3:00 and checked the sight at 5 and it was already sole out. People are either desperate or stupid.

Unrelated, but it reminded me of this.

Tula Steel case for $450. A box of WW at my LGS for $50.00. Actually last one left.

Guess I picked the wrong time to do a PCC.

It seems like everyone is jacking their prices up. Even my two favorite stores, Sportsman’s Outdoor Superstore and SGammo, are climbing to crazy prices. They didn’t raise their prices anywhere near as quickly as many others, but they are both starting to catch up.

This is most likely an issue of distributor suggesting retailers do it. Its not like the others where gouging was voluntary (except CTD, they never change), but its likely that suppliers simply can't get them stock, and are suggesting they sell at a rate to keep the doors open. No manufacturer is going to go ramping up production to meet demand only to risk bankruptcy. They way they see, in a few months ammo will be in huge demand for years, and they can ride out the shortage comfortable money is commong to replace the money they're losing now. Alternatively, they know in a few months there could be an enormous crash in demand, and they will have supplied a presidential term worth in a few months, with no more demand. Layoffs, bankrupcy follow. Or they can just do business as normal, and see where they end up. Consumer loses, but wins in the long run.

I bought a case of CCI brass from PSA pre-apocalypse for $185 delivered, a week later I think it was $300 and still listed as a "daily deal".

The Election is a much smaller cause of the shortage than the events going on in the US. Even a Trump win, could explode in more of the same carnage Americans have witnessed in the pass 6 months.The Perfect Storm, coming in from all directions. And a violent storm it is.
