A local gun shop, I frequent regularly, call me last week and told me they had taken in a Springfield P9C on trade, in 9mm. They let me know when they get something out of the ordinary. I like the old stuff. I have never got in to the plastic stuff. I went in and looked at this pistol. It looked like it had never been shot. There is not a mark on it. It is blue, not the coating that is on CZs now. It is slide to frame fit is tight. It is a very well built gun. It has it’s original cardboard box and all the papers and even the unfilled our warranty card. It followed me home. I figure it to be made in 1990 or so. I remember Springfield pushing the P9 back then. I always wanted one, but they were out at a time my money was in short supply. I remember reading good things about them at the time but there is not a lot of information on the net on them. What do you, that have them think about them? Are they good pistols? What are their short fallings etc? I know Springfield stopped marketing them when EAA started importing the wittinesses line. From what I see, they are better fitted and finished than EAAs are. Just want to know what others have to say about them.
