I am about to purchase a set of Talley rings for my Weatherby Vanguard. I will be mounting a Leupold VX-R Patrol 3-9x40 to the rifle. What size (high, med, low) are most appropriate? Thanks!

a quick aside, did your Axis ll come with the laminate, or did you get it aftermarket? If aftermarket, whose?

The Leupold’s objective (outer diameter) is .14” slimmer than a Nikon’s so you can add that amount of clearance to what @3Crows has. On both scopes this is the largest diameter to consider which just might allow for Low rings.

To clarify your measurement of ".14 slimmer" do you mean the objective diameter is .14 inch less overall so then the the OP would have.07 inch more clearance (than my install) between the scope and barrel?
