Looking for some load data for 10mm with longshot

Hey guys, I'm trying to find some load data for longshot powder with the 10mm auto. Full power(not .40s&w power) velocity but not thermonuclear blasts out of my gun. I have a glock 20 Gen 3 with a lone wolf barrel and a 23lb recoil spring. I have loaded with Blue Dot, Clay's and Power Pistol so far. I like blue dot because it does well with my Lee classic turret press(don't judge, I'm poor lol). However the fireball it produces is less than optimal. I have mostly 180gn lead flat nose, a few hornady xtp(I'll keep my 11.2gn blue dot 180gn xtp load for hunting) and some 180gn hardcast wide meplat bullets as well. I was mainly looking for data on the 180gn hardcast with longshot if anyone has anything I would be grateful. This is my first post here after a long time reading other people's posts so sorry about the novel I've written here but any info would be greatly appreciated. That's 180gn soft and hard lead rounds with longshot data. Thanks again guys.

Now that's a spicy hunting load! I use a pinch more BD in mine.

I just got my first chronograph so for several years I've just observed muzzle flash, flattened primers and case deformation as signs of overpressure. It'll be nice to get velocities and be able to do the math for pressure (give or take). I've used it for a few .22lr in my back yard but I'm headed to the range with about 500 rounds of 10mm and 357 mag to test out. It's going to be a good stress relief day for me!

I observe primers, but 10mm always seems to result in flattened or even convex primers, if you can believe that. This is pretty common for my loads, but note that many of my loads are at the top end of book. As of recent, I've been shooting these same loads in a revolver, and these have yet to result in sticky cases.

I'm very much looking forward to it myself! I'll post as much data as I can here for you guys and thanks for all the info. Yeah I've seen a few convex primers myself but haven't had any issues so far. Everyone here has been awesome to talk with so thank all you guys for that as well.

Thanks Paul. I appreciate that. I'm trying to branch out from just blue dot and power pistol with a little clays here and there. It's like finding the perfect recipe for your favorite dish. Concurrently I also love to cook. Ha!

OK Guys!!! I finally got to the range and got my load data for you. I've been really looking forward to shooting, of course, but also using my Caldwell Pro kit for the first time and posting the results hoping it may help some of you guys.
Before I continue I think I need to post this:

I think only one or two of the loads are above published listing but I wanted to cover my bases and those of this great site. So here is my load data from my first Chronograph testing. I only had time to do the 10MM testing btw. I will have some .357 Magnum and 9mm load data incoming in the near future hopefully.

All Reloads were 180 grain LFN, XTP or Hunter Supply Hardcast. OAL=1.260 All Cartridges were fired from a Glock model 20 with a standard length lone wolf barrel and a 22LB LW recoil spring.

10mm 180gr LFN 10.5gr Blue dot CCI primers - Great accuracy, 1215fps average for 5 shots. - no signs of overpressure on primers.

10mm 180gr LFN 8.6gr Power Pistol CCI primers - Great accuracy, 1256fps average for 5 shots. - no signs of overpressure on primers.

10mm 180gr XTP 9.0gr IMR-800x CCI primers - Chrono Only Test(not for accuracy, that will come later) 1240fps average for 5 shots. - no signs of ovepressure on primers.

10mm 180gr XTP 9.6gr IMR-800x CCI primers - Chrono Only Test - 1287fps average for 5 shots. Just the tiniest bit of primer flattening. Nothing that had me the least bit worried.

10mm 180gr XTP 10.1gr IMR-800x(max hornady.com load for 800x) Chrono Only Test - 1341fps average for 5 shots. Some flattening of the primers but still nothing to be worry me. Starting to feel the recoil here, 7 out of 10 for 10mm.

Got some older boxed winchester large pistol primers for half price at my local store. I had my doubts when a couple were sticking to the primer pack but I tried them anyway as the local store owner said they did the same for him but worked fine. So I loaded a few up. All primers functioned perfectly, even the ones I had to pry out of the pack(that made me a little nervous lol).
10mm 180gr LFN 10gr Blue Dot Winchester primers - Chrono Only Test(accuracy will come later) 1142fps average for 10 shots. No pressure signs on the primers and they all functioned flawlessly.

10mm 180gr XTP 10.6gr Blue Dot(.2 over max for lee manual) CCI primers - I have used this load a lot and it is very accurate. 1257fps average for 6 shots. A tiny tiny bit of primer flattening but nothing that worries me.

10mm 180gr Hunters Supply Hardcast 8.6gr Power Pistol CCI primers - Chrono Test Only(accuracy will definitely come later as this would be a hunting/woods carry load for me). 1256fps average for 5 shots. Very little flattening on primers. Nothing to worry me.

Then just for fun I chrono'd some factory Double Tap and Underwood ammo just to see if they were BS'ing all of us... Here is what I got.

10mm Double Tap 135gr Nosler HP - 1586 average fps for 5 shots. Not too bad... However they do advertise 1600fps on the box but I'm happy with that as two got over 1600fps.

10mm Underwood 200gr Hardcast WFNGC(with that red coating) - 1246fps average for 5 shots. Good job Underwood!!! This I was doubtful because I have had less than stellar results with Double Tap 200gr WFNGC. They advertise 1250fps on the box.

10mm Underwood 220gr Hardcast WFNGC(with the red coating) - 1146fps average for 5 shots. Not as good with the 220gr, its advertised at 1200fps but still thats a big bullet from a 10mm so I am not unhappy. I think a black bear would be most unhappy with either the 200 or 220 if he decided he wanted to eat me or charge at me...

Well guys that's all I had time for today. Next I will do my workups for the .357 magnum in 110gr sjhp, 125gr XTP and 158gr XTP's. I can't wait to break out the Chronograph again. I love that it will connect to your cell phone with the app to capture load data for you(I also write it down). That is super cool. It is the Caldwell Pro Chronograph kit with the stand and the 2 pieces at the top of the metal poles(im not sure what they are called) light up with a battery pack for lower light situations. I had to use that today and it worked flawlessly after a few errors where the back sensor(in the shade) didn't pick up the bullet. I will try to get those .357s as soon as possible. I hope this helped someone out there. Good shooting and let me know if I am doing anything wrong in you guys' eyes or what I could be doing better. Also let me know if this helped any of you. It sure was fun for me!!

Oh, BTW guys. I did get a 1lb jug of Longshot but I had already loaded all the 10mm stuff with what I had. I did use some of it with the .357 magnum reloads and will post as soon as I am able. I will also be cleaning a good bit of 10mm brass and using a little longshot with it as well. I can't wait. Actually I am about to go and hand load some more 180gr XTP's with IMR-800x as those were really kick@ss!!! They just take forever to hand weigh. I want a box of 25 at 10.1gr and 25 9.6gr to test for accuracy before I take them hunting. It is my goal to take a hog and a black bear with a 10mm when I am able to. Hog's are a nuisance around here and bear hunting on the ground is one of the most exhilarating things I have ever done. My uncle uses a .500 S&W mag but its overkill. We're not hunting Kodiak grizzlies or Polar bears. Just black bears.

Hey everyone, another question for you guys. I was somehow able to find a jug of unique powder, 1000 small pistol primers, 2500 large pistol primers, 1000 40cal/100 plated bullets from precision delta and 1000 9mm bullets from extreme bullets. What a find huh!!! Also about 10 boxes of. 9mm 115gr fmj's at a decent price as well as a couple boxes of 8mm mauser for my grandads old gun. Anyway, I was thinking about loading up the 40 caliber cartridges(range ammo for my uncle) with the unique. Do any of you have any load data for those precision delta copper plated .40cal bullets with unique powder? I've noticed that they don't seem to have any copper on the base. This is the first time I've encountered this.

Also check above for my 10mm range report. Some good info there but your mileage may vary lol.

Wait a second. I'm a moron lol. They're listed as fmj bullets on the website. I could have sworn by looking at them that they are plated. Still any data would be awesome and very welcome.

I'm sorry to have left that out. They're 180gr. I went with 6.0gr Universal powder. Good round as far as pressure goes. Need to chrono it and take some for target practice for accuracy. Medium recoil(so very light for me as I'm not really recoil sensitive unless its a 357 mag. I swear they kick more than my dad's 44 mag lol). I'll update as soon as I'm able to. Probably tomorrow.

I averaged 1333 iirc with my 9.2 longshot load out of stock g40 6" barrel. So beating that with the shorter barrel is something. Longshot gave really good sd numbers too. Didn't have a chrono when I played with 800x in the past.

Yeah I really love the numbers and the accuracy of the 800x but having to hand weigh each load with my Lee powder dipper sucks lol. I use the Lee auto disk pro(the round one without the chain) and it just won't meter through it at all. I loaded up 45(3 magazines worth in my glock 20 with the stock length lone wolf barrel) just to have for backwoods carry though I'm still torn between heavy hitting hollow points like those xtp's and a good old underwood or Buffalo bore hardcast. That's a tough argument for me lol.

Now I'm loading up some 147gr(copper plated extreme bullets) 9mm range ammo for my wife. I got a jug of vihtavouri v-3n37 a few weeks before everything went out of stock on midway. Also managed to get 1k sm. Pistol primers and 1k of those extreme 147 grainers. I really wish they would have had 115 or 124gr at that time but pickings are slim as I'm sure you all know. My Lee 2nd edition book is the only source I have physically for data on this one. It says 4.6gr=955fps and 5.0gr=1025fps. It's (at least in this book, I really need to get more books but I usually just reload 357mag and 10mm)so I haven't yet. Any suggestions from u guys? I also have some unique, longshot, blue-dot, universal and universal clays. Not wasting 800x on range 9mm lol. I really wish I could get my hands on a big jug of power pistol. Hopefully this shortage won't last too much longer. Thanks for all the info and all the replies guys. I really appreciate it!!!

OH hey Sueden, 10.1 is the Max load for hornady info from "the complete reloading Manual for that 10mm/.40 S&W". It's one of those small 1(or in some cases 2) caliber books. There is a little good info in there and they're cheap so I got one at cabelas. Mostly ads though.
