I got this put together last week, or the week before. Finally got to shoot it some while we were working on getting our muzzleloaders set up for goats this month.
Only ammo I've run thru it so far is Armscor, and Cci Minimags, and only 100-150rnds. Still tho quite happy with the accuracy, function and handling.
I've still got the factory 24" .22lr and .17hmr barrels, but this will mostly be used in this configuration I think.

Original config...both look the same.
The .17hmr has little trouble keeping it's shots under moa, the factory .22 is more like a 2moa barrel. Ive actually shot 4 or 5 different types of ammo thru the factory, and best has been the federal Hunter Match. The .17 just cci green and FMJs.

Now in heavy barrel config the .22lr is holding slightly over moa groups (if you ignore the fliers which I'm pretty sure I enduced with my reload and failure on the first shots both times), which I'm happy with.

Shot from my pod with a sandbag.

Cci Minimags 50yds, 10 shots, one reload in each group.

Last 5 shots.

As you can see from the last group, changing my poa without changing my position isn't really conducive to consistency.
After that group i shot the last 20-30rnds at stuff on the berm. Zoomed out to 12x the Minimags land right on the point of the duplex making it really easy to connect. I don't think I missed anything, even looped a couple rounds over a rock and into a can that I'd knocked down the berm, to settle behind a couple big stones earlier. Now I'm wishing I had another bare 457/455 action to build the .17 barrel out with since I'm really happy with this configuration.

Oh here are the first rounds thru the barrel after I got it (bought used, supposed to have had under 100rnds thru it)
Armscor at 32yds
Sighting. I was shooting at the yellow point. Fired one, then fired 2 into the same hole, corrected and aimed at the cluster for last two.

Bullseye group shot by my buddy Ed, shots to the left are from trying to shoot the Armscor box target

10rnds two shooters.

All in all super happy with this gun.

Man you are building some winners! I really like the look of that barrel and those groups. I need another .22 like I need a hole in the head but you got me thinking about a Feddersen barrel and a project I’ve been wanting to start.
As @Mr.Revolverguy said, misery loves company!

I've been eyeing Brownells brn-22s, since I sold my heavy barrel 597.......bullet..... head .....same ole, same ole......
What receiver you gonna use?

Thought about my basic carbine, $200 Black Friday special I grabbed two or three years ago. I looked into the Brownells receivers but read a couple reviews that gave me pause, most likely guys who never ran into a hitch while swapping parts.

Speaking of misery loves company, anyone spot the Gunny here lately? What with the hurricanes and his profession I’ve noticed an absence in the rifles forum or maybe I’m not looking at the right posts. I’m kinda hoping to see a mega build retirement AR from him. Could always use more inspiration to spend money.

Haven't seen a rifle post In while....maybe he is working on a build and just hasn't said anything lol. Now you got my curiosity piqued.......why do I find other people's builds almost more exciting than my own?

Lothar Walther makes very good barrels. I’ve got a 22” version on my 527 Grendel that shoots lights out. I need to try one on my 455 as the original is so-so. Never thought about it until I saw this post.

Nice shooting and easy on the eyes!
Well done, LoonWulf!

Love it absolutely love it
Thank you!

Yeah my stock .22lr barrel isn't bad, but uninspiring. Especially considering how accurate the .17hmr is.
The guy I got this barrel from had 1/2 a dozen posted on eBay. I'm kinda wondering if he was buying em, and looking for one that worked well with a particular brand/lot of ammo. What ever he was doing, Im stoked cause I got a barrel at a great price.

I likes me a good CZ rimfire. That's some mighty powerful glass on that setup, LoonWulf. Just you wait until you figure out what she really likes to eat. Very nice!
I'm trying to get some classier rings, and I'll probably swap out the ATV for a "nicer" scope. I like the 4.5-14x power range for .22s, but we'll see what I can find when in have the cash to play with.
I've shot quite a few CZ 45x series, but this is the first one I've owned. Im gonna start looking for a deal on a 455 or 457 action (or cheap complete gun) to build out the 17hmr as it's own rifle.I've got other projects, and want a Christensen Ranger also....so we'll see lol.
Course the br-22, or other custom 10/22, is also noodling around my head. I've never found a 10/22 configuration I've really liked, but I'm game to try again....and again.....and again......

Nice rifle and shooting!
I have owned several 22lr's. Just never fell in love with any of them.
@LoonWulf and @Armored farmer with his new TC have gotten me thinking about 22s again. May need scratch the itch :D
Hard not to love a good .22.
I don't really have much fun with them at the standard ranges, as I'm really just a plinker. 100yds+ and they really become fun to employ against random range trash, or steel.

I have the same barrel on a CZ455. I pillar bedded the action and it just keeps getting better the more I shoot it. When you get a chance try some SK target fodder. Clean the barrel after using the CCI mini mag and you might be really happy.

Interesting. Nice build. I am missing a shoot today due to a broken arm. Grrrr
Thank you for the compliment, and best wishes for a fast recovery!

I'd like to, but I've never seen any of the quality match ammo on the shelves.....tho now that I'm actually thinking about it, there's a couple places that might have some, that i haven't checked.
