Tisas 380

Interested now.

That same guy, Graham Baates, also has a table top review of the Tisas where he shows the gun in more close up detail and disassembles it.

Prepare for a disappointment. These larger blowback-operated guns are not any lighter recoiling to shoot than your TCP. The Beretta 84 in particular constantly prompts disagreement where some people claim it's very tame, others say that it's snappy. My experience was both. You have to hold it right, and you must keep springs in good order, and then it's passable.

Unfortunately, there's no large, light recoiling .380 with a double-stack magazine on the market today. The softest shooting are the Browning 1911-380 and S&W "Shield" 380EZ, but their magazines only hold 8 rounds. The next best option is Glock 42 with an extended magazine, but even that only gets you 12 and it's not particularly ergonomic.

I had one for about a year. It was well made and never gave me any trouble, but I found it pretty 'snappy',. Of course, some of that may be attributable to the arthritis in my hands.
BTW, I do presently have a Glock 42 with an extended magazine and like it just fine, and I don't like Glock ergos, generally.

I had one, figuring it would be an inexpensive way to scratch my long-held, but never satisfied, Beretta 84/85 itch. There was nothing wrong with it, nor did I find it particularly snappy, but it wasn’t Beretta quality, unsurprisingly. Sold it, ‘cause I didn’t really need or want a third mid-sized .380.

I'm intrigued. I've been very pleased with my TISAS 1911-A2. I won't likely get one, though, as it would be pretty much a carry gun, and I have plenty of those on hand already. To me, .380 isn't a "fun-gun" round due to its price and availability.

My Bersa Thunder 380 is a blowback pistol, but I never thought of it as snappy. Certainly easier than my recoil-operated PF9. My Grendel P10 is pretty rude, though. In fact, it's hard to tell which is more so between the blowback Grendel and the recoil-operated Kel-Tec; one dissipates energy faster but is chambered for the more-powerful round, and the other fires the softer round, but transfers all its perceived recoil to the shooter.

35 years ago I had no complaints shooting my PPK/S for an hour until someone put Browning’s version of the Tisa into my hands. Wow, what a smooth, soft cushy firing pistol compared to the Walther. When I was finished, I immediately traded the PPK/S in on a Browning. I still have it and I really enjoy shooting it.

I hadn’t seen these, so ThomasT, it’ll be your fault if I buy one now. I hope you feel awful about that!

I’m trying to thin the collection - errh, accumulation - right now, but those look tempting. I have a CZ83 that holds 13 rounds of .380 and one of these would complement it nicely.
