I ordered this from special Intrest arms almost 6 years ago. This past Jan I finally arrived and I filed the paper work. Tax stamp came back the first of this month. I’ve put about 40 rounds through it. It’s about as loud as a CO2 powered pellet gun. Sadly the sight are so far off that it can hit a steel plate at 50 yards. If ad misted the rear as far over as it will go and it still shoots about 3 inch left of POA and 7 inches low at 50 yards. So now I need to find a SOT that is willing to work on the gun I’ve 6.5 years for. The guy that made it is out of business and won’t return emails or phone calls.

here is a vid of it being fired.

That is nice, So did it take 6 years for the guy to complete conversion building project?? What caliber is it???

it was 6 years from the date of order to date of delivery. His communication was pretty poor and I was shorted a bit on the quality of some of the parts. Over all it’s great. Just does not shoot POA. The caliber is 45ACP. Uses 1911 mags. Here is a link for what it sounds like shooting.

Out side you pretty much can not hear it at all.

SIA was notorious for slow service. So slow that ATF jumped their butt a few times. He is out of business.

Yeah this was one of his last builds. The butt stock was not what I ordered. But aside from that and the POA sucking it’s a great build.

Thanks for sharing... Not taking anyones side because I do not know the parties.. But you know the world has changed in the Enfield 2nd hand market since when you ordered and when you gots.. Those kinda conversion/rebuilds can really be tough to stay ahead of when you think about it... Easier to sell then make. And with parts drying up man those become nightmares..

Thanks for the link to the how loud it is... Very Very Very nice... Would you say that the noise was amplified in that shooting range?? Would it be softer outside???

Now I am going to just ask and not trying to nit pick anything.. Because what you have is cool and I wish I had one.. :) Was that how they built all of them with the original magazine well left on??? I would love to see a close up of how the inside of the magazine well looks..??

Glad it worked out nice looking gun...

im not familiar with anything about enfields to be honest. It was never on my radar. More of a Mauser/model 70 guy. Are they not easy find or poorly made? This one seems really nice.

The noise is ver amplified inside the shooting range. But...... with no earpro on it’s no louder then clapping your hands. Our doors it’s like snapping your fingers.

Watch that vid from MAC. That is how the real and originals where made. The mags had something welded onto the back of them making them proprietary. Mine is more of a modern take on it. I believe it uses a Rhineland Arms mag conversion and one of their 45 cal barrels. This allows for the use of an ejector where the originals did not have that and you had to kind of flip the spent round out. So mine is kind a of a fan based repo that is less frustrating to shoot. Would be even less if you could hit what you where aIming at.

Moocho thanks for the extra time here...

Very, very cool! I realize six and a half years is a long time to wait and even with the sight problem I feel you've still got one of the coolest toys on the block, in your neighborhood, city, state, country, and planet!

Hope you get the sights fixed so you can use your DeLisle to it's highest potential.

We need a smart person to ask, but, if it's only the sights, it may not need a SOT to adjust the sights to something resembling POA.

yeah I’m going to post in a few other forums as well as ask a few places local around here. I e gotten mixed feed back. The big question seems to be that cause the front and rear sight is on the suppressor portion of the gun that and SOT might be the only option.

If you lightly file the notch of the rear sight on one side, it will move the POA. Likewise, filing the front sight will raise the POA.
I wonder if there is a scout scope base for the SMLE rear sight...Might be an easy way to put a little red dot sight on there.

Very cool, those Delisle's seem like a very usable tool around the house for pest control.

Another option is to get a machinest/gunsmith and see if I could fashion an offset front sight, with elevation adjusted front height so that the dovetail can be centered in the front mount but the blade would be offset on the dovetail gaining the needed windage adjustment. Getting your sights in the center of their range and then shooting to see where they are hitting would give you a base point of how much offset and height difference your sights need to correct.

But if you can find an SOT to resolve the issue by aligning the sights in a more factory suitable sense that would be preferable.

Looks like the regular SMLE rear sight, just run it up until the elevation is correct.
It looks like it would take surgery per BreechFace to fix the deflection, is that front sight assembly welded to the tube?

I think you need an enthusiast SOT to take it apart and see where it is built crooked. Finding somebody who will take an interest, and is not just cranking out silencers as fast as his customers can get stamps will be the trick.

Any 01 or 07FFL can perform repairs to an NFA firearm. SOT is not required.

https://www.atf.gov/firearms/qa/may-licensed-gunsmith-receive-nfa-firearm-purposes-repair
May a licensed gunsmith receive an NFA firearm for purposes of repair?
Yes, a licensed gunsmith may receive a National Firearms Act (NFA) firearm for the sole purpose of repair and subsequent return to its owner.

It is suggested that the owner obtain permission from ATF for the transfer by submitting an ATF Form 5, Application for Tax Exempt Transfer and Registration of Firearm, to the NFA Branch and receive approval prior to the delivery. The gunsmith should do the same prior to returning the firearm.
Note that the second paragraph is nonsense. No one in their right mind transfers lawful possession on a Form 5 for gunsmithing. It is not what the F5 is for.

What is the value of something like that today?
There were only like a hundred built during WWII, and they were not considered a success and worth preserving. You can probably extrapolate value from there.
Valkyrie Arms sells theirs for just north of $2400.
This example was a small-shop production run.
Inform your estimate of value thusly.

Last one that was sold on gun broker from special Intrest arms was sold around 5900 bucks. They hold their value well and go up it seems.

Maybe ask @MachIVshooter.

Very nice rifle tho, goofy sights and all.
