Anyone ever see a high cap magazine for a Remington 788 in 44 magnum?

Because, merica that's why.
I can't find any trace that a high capacity Remington 788 in 44mag was ever made by a commercial entity.
Are my findings correct?
I'm thinking butcher a 788 mag and behead a cheap Promag for a 44 mag Deagle and weld them up.
The 788 mags hold a biden approved (for now) 3 rounds. 3 rounds was fine for 1968 I guess.
 
Out of curiosity, whats wrong with promags? I've got a few, mostly ar and glock mags, but they have worked well for me.

It is very possible that the ubiquity of AR and Glock mags has made it so even ProMag versions cant necessarily fail. However, get into some lesser available one but still pretty popular, such as, Beretta 92, Browning Hi Power, 3rd Gen Smith, Sigs, etc. and there are universally spotty results. I have personal experience with all these makes of pistols being used with ProMag magazines and have had not great results.

My personal mistake was buying one of the 10 round Remington 7600 mags and it was unusable. I have heard others having success with them though.
 
Yeah I'm pretty sure all of mine have been for ars or Glocks. I am gonna try a BHP one....when ever I take that Nibbler to the range again.
 
OK I had a 788 Remington .44 mag for many years and it was very kewl, I eventually out a Weaver 1-3x scope on it before I traded for an installed 2 person outdoor suana to a contractor young man. The Magazines , now long out of production were $150 each a few years ago. They hold 4 rounds as I remember and the rifle was a 5 shooter with one up the spout.
Now if I was to do it, and would not because it was a great legal hunting gun that had just the right legal capacity for that and easily inserted if needed., I too would take an old nasty factory magazine, having at least one good one in reserve and cut and heliarc a lower longer one on to it and find the right length spring that would work and fooll with the follower. The height of the bullet rise is crucial in such creations so the factory top will help that with a factory follower.
I Never found a higher capacity mag for mine in the 30 years I had it, and would have scarfed up several if I did. I would fool around with steell mags like AK and HK mags to see if the bullets might feed from them and use them as welded on donors
 
They're not $150 any more.
Some other company was making them, not promag. That crashed the price of the originals too. The original Remington mags are $40 to $65.
I wouldn't be butchering them if the replacement cost was $150.
 
Finding magazines for the 788 Remington in any caliber is a challenge. I have 5 of them in different calibers, the 6mm Rem being my favorite, but there has never been a larger than 3 round magazine that I have seen.
 
Well seeing your rifle is worth at least $900 being very scarce and desirable, a higher capicity option could be traded for probably for defense.
 
If you can find a straight “donor” mag that has the right ID, and a TIG welder that will be a short project.

The most complicated one I have done would be my 71 round Soumi drum converted to 9mm AR 15.
