Most of my hunting is presicly (misspelled) exactly that. Kick the leaves 360 degrees around the tree so when a deer comes in I can move around the tree so I can hide myself and use the tree as a prop for my gun.

Last year this little buck lost It's life to a small maple tree.

This year my stand will be empty. My cast should come off just before season. They are thinking of sitting me on a hillside providing I am able to shoot. I dunno yet.

Closest thing to a "blind" I've got. I'll sit under the tailgate and wait for stuff to walk by in a few spots. Couple places I just sit in the cab and wait for stuff to cross....I've had stuff walk within feet of the truck while it was running....and it's kinda loud.

Got hit by a chevy a couple months ago, and I still need to fix the camber, weld in some stuff, and fix a brake line before we can go camp out and wait for goats again

The Ruger #1 pic w little 8 pt.....i was laying on the ground by my treestand, back too messed up. Bud in a stand told me it was coming across field to me via text.

131" 9 pt I got still hunting. Saw him and snuck up a bit.

Half my deer killed from the ground half by sneaking

I cant slip through tangles like I used to.
My back usually trashed and limits bending.
However it also slows me down more.
Which might be a plus.
At least in killing em

Lol I always wanted to do the cap motel for when I go to the coast to fish, just need to find somewhere to shower lol.waking up early is hard for me since I'm a night owl, I've done way to many trips just staying up all weekend, they get old fast lol.

For hunting I always had a idea for mini cabins, just big enough for a sleeping cot a chair and small table. Have it set up on a nice hunting spot.

I used to be a morning person, now I have a hell of a time getting up. The camper and futon was perfect when I used to go down to the coast after work and pop goats before going home on my weekends. Last few times tried tho, I might as well have been fishing cause I stayed up all night.
I fish at night almost exclusively now, way more comfortable, so there's been a few dive, fish, hunt weekends.

I was hard getting up this morning, I went squirrel hunting, they were all over the roads but not where I was hunting. Maybe they spelled in lol, it was a nice morning tho low 40s and light wind.

Do you guys use "blinds" or hides for small game? I used to shoot tons of birds, rats, and mongoose from improvised hides made out of bushes back on our farm.

No just still hunt, I'll walk slow and find a group of bigger nut trees like oak, hickey and walnut. Then sit down for 20 minutes to let them com out, I only see one the 2 hours I was there in range but didn't have a good shot.

normally when get get the first cold snap there all out getting ready for winter, but I guess there lazy or worried about corona lol.

8ll set up some netting or clip branches, for dice or geese hides,and maybe a couple when bowhunting groundhogs.
Turkey hunting i find a wide tree w slight lean back.

Those runs to the woods starting at 430 am.....pick a comfy tree. It very well may be a mattress LOL

Actually, w the ticks down south there is a big flat rock by a roost area and we do call it the mattress.

Ive slept on it.

Buddy had a copperhead pop out next to him, out of a hollow log......about 100 yards down

Rattlers around. Never seen one

I'm with you. Never used a tree stand or blind. last year was the first time I built a couple of natural lean-tos with tree branches to help out with my first bow season. I've taken deer at 25 yards just standing up against a tree. Half the time my dad would take them at that range with no camo on and a cigar in his hand. Not against it, just been too cheap and stuck in my ways.

That's nice, I'd think you could do it for 20k maybe less, but if you have 8 windows and a guy for each one the the cost may not be to bad lol. It's kinda like how I was thinking off making are next blind, but I thing 6 sides not 8. And just 4x8 ply wood walls. Should be plenty big for 2 hunters.

I've seen were someone put a old Ford cab in the fork of a free and hunted out of it.

I don’t know how close power is to it but if it’s as far from it as the two views we can see would suggest, you could spend more than that getting a meter there.
