Ruger Wrangler

I see grabagub.com shows some in stock for $189.99.

Good deal! Think I like the Silver finish the best, then the all Black one, and if all that was left, the Burnt Bronze model.

I've got one in black, the only one they had at the time.
So far I like it, but as with most SAA clones, I find my aging eyes have trouble with the sights.
I'll put a little bright color on the front sight and that should help.
After shooting my old single six for decades, the Wrangler seems stiff and maybe a little rough, but that's probably just needing the new shot out of it.
For the price, it's a heckuva revolver, and I'm thinking about getting another one just because.

I added a set of Altamont grips during their Black Friday Sale last year for 20 bucks. I think they’re a little bit easier to hang on to compared to the thin factory grip panels. Mine is the all black version, but the silver one also looks sharp in my eyes.

Same here. It's not a Single Six, but at half the price of a new SS it's well worth the money. I did a little work on mine when I got it, but for an all-round plinker its a dandy. Like @Riomouse911 I added a set of wood grips to mine, and now it fills out my hand much better. Go for it, I think you'll enjoy it.

If we didn't already have a couple Single-Six's and a Bearcat floating around, I would definitely get one.

I can highly recommend it. Mine has been fine so far.

The $175 cost at Omaha Outdoors looks good until you add $35 for shipping. The grabagun that Bannock linked to says $189 and if I understand it correctly that includes the shipping to your dealer. The grabagun price looks to be the better deal.

Looked at two of them in the last few weeks. They are great little guns for what they are, but the finish looks rough. I like the bronze one a lot more than I thought I would. I will be getting one soon for me or my son. He keeps eyeballing my h&r double nine and talking about how I should give it to him... A wrangler might be a better option.

Good handgun choice for teaching kids! Bought one to teach granddaughter and it worked very well. For the money you can’t beat it, in fact for the price I was somewhat impressed!

I fired one at the range when they first rolled out ... Seems like alot of gun for the money...
Wondering when a 22 WMR cylinder will be offered?

I picked up a slightly used one in March at my LGS for $163 after tax. I mainly got it for my 12 year old son and he loves it. Its fun, accurate, and was easier for him to get used to loading it since you don't have to come to half-cock and then lower the hammer after like with my colt.

I have posted about my Ruger Wrangler before; purchase with confidence. It is a well made beginners handgun; the only negative I have about the revolver is the trigger pull; it is gritty. Other than that I have no qualms.

Trigger's kinda heavy but I hope it will improve after a couple'a hundred rounds.

A few folks have mentioned the triggers being heavy/gritty, etc. Here's how I fixed my Wrangler:

1. Remove the hammer spring and clip two (2) coils off one end.

2. Remove the hammer and trigger, and lightly (and I do mean lightly) stone the trigger and hammer surfaces. I used a fine stone but some 1000 grit sandpaper wrapped around a flat file would do just as well.

3. After re-assembly, unhook one leg of the trigger spring. Don't worry, it will still reset just fine.

Unfortunately I don't have a trigger pull gauge, but these easy little mods sure made a noticeable difference in the little gun. And, even though this sounds difficult, I accomplished all these things while setting in living room with just a few common hand tools and a parts breakdown.

Again, the Wrangler is a great pistol for a great price, and I wouldn't hesitate to buy another.

I have found by using Zero Friction lubricant and a few hundred or more dry fires has improved every revolver I have had ... improved not perfected

I picked one up a few months ago for my 13 year old to shoot. It's been great, and I highly recommend it, especially for the price. The trigger on mine has been fine, so a trigger job isn't necessary.

Welp - I guess we know where the "No" vote came from...


My $0.02:
For 40% of the Bearcat price, I think it's safe to say it's at least 40% as good.
That being said, the Wrangler obviously is no S6, S10 or Bearcat.

I have a fairly new Single-Ten I bought Just Before the Wrangler came out. I LOVE it. But I wish I had an additional reason to get a Wrangler, just to appreciate how well it's made (I handled one at my LGS). Too bad I don't have any kids to bestow one on.
