Powder list. To remember what to get.

As a reloader and I'm sure I am not alone. That there's always powders we keep an eye out for in are travels. My problem is when I go to a shop I always forget the powders I need or would like to try in a cartridge or many.

Anyone make a list of the cartridges and the powder they need to stock up on or give a try. I'd like something simple I can keep in my wallet. I could list all my cartridges then list to the side what I need and what to try.maybe a number of letter system maybe better.

Don't know if anybody will understand what I'm saying but could make it easier to keep track of what powders work for different rounds.
 
I am a K.I.S.S. kind of guy. I have kept my number of powders low but a decent stock of powder for the ones I use. I have not gotten to the depth of reloading as many do by searching for accuracy and velocity. I would like to eventually get to that point but at this time in my life I do not have the time to get there. The biggest thing for me when I started out in the mid 90's to today is loading so I can shoot more.

I currently run the following powders:

IMR4198
IMR4064
IMR4320 (recently discontinued)
IMR4350

I can/do load for:
38/357
9mm
45ACP
.223
7mm-08
30-06
7.62x39
338WM
 
No phone, no problem. I'm a bit jealous of you for that actually! Before I got used to the notepad feature on mine I kept a small memo pad in my back pocket every day. Just a different medium with the same format. List by cartridge and then leave a few lines for each powder and/or projectile to watch out for. Top choice on first line and backup options on each subsequent line.

I also keep a list in my 3 ring reloading logbook at home for new combinations to try. Once I procure an item from the "wishlist" I carry around I add that to the home list along with a reference to which manual I found the data in.
 
Like going to the grocery store without a list when you are hungry... I don't go shopping at the LGS without a list. It usually is a list of the 'must haves' at the top, with maybe some 'nice, but not absolutes' below it.

I don't have a lot of esoteric powders on my bench, and I keep a pretty updated spreadsheet with the on-hand quantities handy, too... so I know what I need if I decide to go shopping.
 
I just bring my smartphone LOL. I have 3 standby's when they get low, I'm actively searching, but it's just 3, I can remember those. When I want or need a substitute standard, or I find a deal on my favorite brand: "cheap random stuff," the google phone comes out if it's not one I'm familiar with the applications for.
 
I keep my components inventory in an Excel spreadsheet in Dropbox; bullets, brass, primers. On the powder list are also a couple I want to try after reading or hearing about other’s successes. For example, I have my eye open for some Sport Pistol. I can and do access the file from my smart phone.
 
I’d always write it on a paper list, and then forget the list, or forget where I put the list. If it’s on my smartphone in a note, I can just search for it. Old farts can learn new tricks. Good luck!
 
The only thing I'm watching for is a couple lbs of 231 and a couple lbs. of universal clays.
Thats pretty easy to remember.
What I have trouble with is what powders are closely the same as other powders like the Ramshot powders.

I see that I am not the only one...
My wife laughs at me but I keep notes and photos for reference on my phone.

Recently at the reloading store I was referring to my list of things I wanted and two guys started commenting that they need to do that to save money from buying stuff they thought they needed only to find they were out of one thing but had abundant amounts of others.
I told them my biggest problem was remembering to make the notes in the first place. ;)
