Oddly enough, I'd like to see an updated version of the .41 rimfire make a comeback.
It is, to the best of my knowledge, the smallest reloadable centerfire cartridge. Cheap to shoot but takes218 Bee would be what I would like to see again.
When I was a wee little boy my West Virginia hillbilly Uncle had one,,,
I just remember thinking what a cute little cartridge it was.
He was a food hunter and a crack shot,,,
This little rifle took down everything he aimed it at,,,
Including (I can say it now as he is long gone) some deer.
I honestly don't know if the cartridge had any special qualities or not,,,
I just remember that they were bigger than my .22 shorts and very cool looking.

Yes.6.5x55. It's hard to believe the Swedes had it right over 100+ years ago.
I don’t think the 38 super was ever real popular but I’d like it if was. Same thing with the 7mm Mauser/275 Rigby, would love to see that in major circulation.
Me, too.7.62x54r....I'm just a fan and would like to see it in more guns. ....
I'd love to see both the .250-3000 Savage and the Savage Model 99 to shoot it in make a comeback!There have been so many cartridges come and go over the years for various reasons, mostly due to them becoming outperformed by newer more advanced cartridges. What's a cartridge that was once popular that you would like to see make a comeback?
If something similar to the .44 Special Charter Arms Bulldog in concept, but built by S&W or Ruger, came out, I'd jump at the chance to buy one.Mmm. I'd like to see the .44 Spl come back big-time. Something along the lines of a 5 shot L-frame (perhaps a K frame, *maybe*), with a round butt, 3" *heavy* shouded barrel, and fixed sights. Similar to the Mdl 13 the FBI issued, but in a 5-shot .44 Spl chambering.
I'd like to see the 6.5 Carcano come back, but it would seem to have too much baggage. And the 6.5 Creedmoor seems to be coming into favor as a long range cartride lately. Not that those two should be directly compared.
I'm thinking most of the innovations in the shooting sports are driven by the marketing departments,,,,, {{ Shut up, Terry ! }}
Well, see, like the "Short Magnum" cartridges... {{ Terrrry ! Watch iiiit ? }}
Oh. Sorry 'bout that, Chief.

I probably don't know what the heck I'm talking about, but I pulled the bullet out of one of my homemade 6.5 x 52 Carcano dummy rounds (PPU), and I'd say that's already a "modern bullet", no? "Semi boat tail" I'd call it, though I don't know if there's any such actual term. And if new that's a new production cartridge, as it appears, it would already contain modern propellant, no? My Carcanos already shoot pretty good with ancient barrels and receivers using new production ammo. (Awaiting discussion about bullet diameter...I know, I know)..... It would be fun to see what the Carcano could do with modern bullet, propellent, ...
6.8 SPC
There are lots of great ideas here. I'd be interested in development of rounds like the 6mm SAW and the 280 British. I couldn't tell you why....
The 6.5 CM and the 6.5 Carcano can't be directly compared but I'd like to see some development of the 6.5 Carcano as well.

Just for fun, here's a 6.5 Carcano on the left and a 6.5 CM on the right. It would be fun to see what the Carcano could do with modern bullet, propellent, and barrel/receiver technology.
