What is the most recent knife you bought?

I never thought seriously about a SOG (studies and observation group, they are careful to remind you) knife because I don't live the tactical life. When I saw specs for the ultra XR, however, I thought that might be a big upgrade to the SAK classic I carry while wearing a suit.

Amazing. 1.2 ounces, nice blade shape in S35VN, with carbon fiber handle and ample deep carry clip. Crossbar lock. Could use it as a bill clip if I had any money left. Found on sale at Midway for $100 or so. Link to video:

Be glad you don't have a Snap-On tool truck show up at your job. He had about 12 different autos and it took a lot to not just add a bunch to my account. I went with this little guy, thats a 9mm round next to it.

And in September I treated myself to a birthday gift for myself, Buck of the Month, a Marksman

My snap on guy doesn't have knives on his truck, if he does they aren't displayed. He's pretty lazy though , so who knows. In Illinois you need a FOID card to buy autos so no chance of the tool truck having any for sale.

I live in Florida so no biggie here. My Snap On guy will at times let me know when there is a new Kershaw made Snap on knife I might like. Theres been a few times when a new series comes out and it will be in 4 different colors for the same knife and he'll order me all 4. There is a 100 anniversary Zero Tolerance, its about $800 and he couldn't even order it because there was some restriction

My most recent 2 are a Helle Harding Puuko and a Jeo-Tec #29 bushcraft knife with ancient olivewood handle:

I wanted a working EDC knife that I didn't have to worry about dinging up. The blade is 4.92 inches MOVA-58 stainless (.2" thick) and is likely OEM'd in quantity (China ?) as I have seen similar blades from other companies. I was intrigued by the ancient olivewood handle and I think it is purty. The knife is assembled by Jeo-Tec in Spain and retailed for $125 on Amazon.

First time I've seen the YoJumbo!

I've got both the original Yojimbo and the Yojimbo II. I cut my hand up bad on the original, when it opened up in my pocket. The blade was so sharp, I didn't even realize it at first, until I saw there was blood all over my hand! I never carried it again after that. The Yojimbo II has a much better detent when it's closed, though, and I carry it quite a bit.

Yojumbo is a big dang knife. I need to adjust the pivot and screws as the blade isn't centered and there is just a touch of play in the blade. While I like the knife I've gotten a little too used to ZT, WE, and Bestech knives where they come centered with no blade play. But this is a different animal. Detent is strong so I don't think I'll have a problem. This is my first Spyderco so I'm practicing the flick.

You aren't kidding about how sharp they come. I've used it gently as I want to keep the tip in tack, and this one is meant as a defensive weapon, not an EDC for me. But the few times I have used it, it's definitely the sharpest knife I've seen out of the box.

Becker BK16 delivered yesterday View attachment 963574
The BK 16 is a timeless classic. I overlooked it for many years, finally ordered one on a sale and was immediately hooked. I was a bit disappointed in the cheesy plastic grips, the rough texture of the blade coating, and the sheath. The grips felt good but were slippery and fit was not precise. I just mounted the micarta grips that I threw in to get free shipping, and they make a world of difference. Fit is perfect, contours feel great and texture makes for a powerful grip. I paid $30, Tomar's Ka-bars wants $31, and most places want $35. Highly recommended.
I think you will enjoy that knife!

. Thanks for the heads up. So far I think I’m happy with the scales that came on it. I did change out to the tan set using stainless nuts and bolts tho. I have a sheathless Air Force pilots knife that fits the BK16 sheath perfectly. I have a handier leather belt sheath on order. I’ve been on a bit of a knife buying frenzy lately 6 in the last month.

Not bought, but gifted via a “pay it forward” scheme on another site.

CRKT M16-10s, Carson design, frame lock. A little lighter than the Leek, 2.6 oz. vs. 3.1, but about the same size, both with a 3” blade.

Should make a nice pocket knife, but I prefer the spring assist on the Leek.
