Manufacture date and value of FN Browning 1922

I've never seen one with the original box.

That's a large importer's mark on the right side.

Bahnpolizei is Railway Police, US Zone would mean post war divided Germany under allied control zones, not "West Germany".

The marking itself shows the need for the allies to keep track of lawfully issued arms to German civilians. It's definitely an interesting piece.

The lion over P.V proof mark is Belgian done at Liege for rifled barrels and parabellum pistols.

I can't find any info on the importer, just checking that is is stamped: RSI Milford NH ?

I've now seen several of these online and it's ESI Milford NH

Keep an eye out they are apparently not as rare as we thought. One source suggested they are all post war pistols, but I'd like to verify that.

ESI seems to have bought a bunch of them. I've found a number of them online now and they all have the ESI mark.

I haven't found any record of ESI as a modern entity either

Bizarre that FN was contracted to make guns when mountains of surplus guns were available.

Would be a neat piece to pick up.
