Leatherman ps4 beats the dime in every way.

And thanks, I'm going to order one. My leather man 2000 is to heavy to to carry EDC, even with a good leather belt pouch.
My daily belt carry is already cumbersome with 1911, spare mag, knife, keys and phone.
That will go in my left pocket.

I looked at the PS4 pretty close before ordering the Dime but most of the reviews I found preferred the Gerber. Since I had already handled a Dime and knew I liked it was a fairly easy decision.

You're not kidding! I just looked, new leatherman prices are much higher now than when I was going back and forth on the dime vs ps4.


I have done horrible things to this leatherman, id never part with it.

I just added a reply, but yeah man they were about the same price, maybe 5 dollars apart when I was looking years ago between the models. I'm ok with sak, but wanted pliers, the kids always seemed to need them asap.

I first got the Dime, again years ago but I immediately returned it and got the leatherman instead. I honestly can't remember why it went back other than vaguely remembering just not liking it and how it functioned. Once I got the leatherman I felt keychain carry perfection was attained.

Now, I have to add I would have a harder time today paying what the leatherman has gone up to for this model, and I'm a die hard leatherman fan.

I used to carry a Leatherman tool with me all the time. After a while I realized I almost never used it except as a pair of pliers, and surprisingly to me I used the scissors a lot. Once in a blue moon I would use the screwdriver bits but the screwdrivers on multi-tools are generally not very good tools. so after a while I stopped carrying it I haven't really missed it any.

When I carry tools in my computer bag I usually had a regular screwdriver with interchangeable bits and a pair of needle nose pliers. That was about all I really needed and it worked a ton better than any multi-tool.

Now I just carry a knife in my pocket. It's a little large and heavy and I've been thinking about getting a smaller one.

Leatherman made in USA. Dime made in china. Cost difference of $15 in consequential.

I like my Dime. Mind I'm pretty tight with a Gerber dealer, so I (occasionally) get really good deals on Gerber products.

I get them at half retail, but either way I still like Leatherman regardless of price. It's too bad because prior to the 1980's Gerber was one of my favorite brands, now not so much. I still own a bunch of Gerbers from the 1960's through the 1980's.
