I guess I've been handloading for 15-16 years? I went from one single stage to another single stage, then a progressive and a shot shell loader. When I got divorced a couple years ago I was able to keep the equipment but lost the bench. I'm still trying to get all equipment back in one location now.

If you wouldn't have stolen the pillow case off her pillow to use as a press cover, she might not mind as much.
What your talking about is one of the hardest things to curb. If you can afford another expensive press then go for it.

I'm not sure how you found a Dillon press to buy with out paying a fortune for it because of our current situation, but well done.

I'd like to have a 7 station press right now but I can't justify buying one. My Hornady and my ABLP does everything I need. I know that's no fun, but I'm right there with you on wanting them.

Presses: Rockchucker, RCBS Jr, Lyman AA Turret, Lee Breech Lock, Lee Pro1000(2). Moulds, about 75. Sizer/Lubricators: Lyman 45, Lyman 450(3), Star. Mec Grabber (2), Mec 9000, Mec 600 12, 20, 410, Mec 700. Then there are the melting pots, electric furnaces, and miscellany. I'm about to have the biggest reloading garage sale in the area. (Oh, yeah. Lyman 310 tools, several and Lee whack a moles four or five.)
But I've been at it for sixty-five years.

I would say that your as screwed up as the rest of us....that’s what’s wrong with you..

When bench becomes room, room becomes 2 car garage----. That's what the next 40 years will become. Trust me I know how this story ends.

Some of the stuff I've collected I can't even remember "collecting" it. But occasionally I'm glad I did.
As an example, one of our grandsons asked for a set of .223 dies for Christmas, and my wife and I were in Idaho Falls yesterday doing a little Christmas shopping. We went to 3 stores that carry reloading equipment and components, and naturally, it was the same story at all 3 stores - "We can't keep .223 dies in stock."
But then I remembered that I just might have bought a set of .223 dies back when I bought an AR (and later sold it) a few years ago. So when we got home, I checked. Sure enough - I have a brand new set of SB .223 Remington dies and a shell holder in a drawer next to my loading bench. We got to check one grandson's gift off the Christmas list.
I don't know where that grandson's going to find components though. Because even if I have a few extra components, I'm hanging on to them these days.

You have a severe case of scope creep. Besides acquiring new tech, you have to have discipline that I don't have....any flat surface tends to get tempprarily covered up with "stuff". Temporarily is a non-determinate period of time.

I have had a progression.

Began in 1970 with one S&W Model 15 and a Lee Loader (the hammer operated sort). Within a year I had a sporterized M1903 (not sure if it was an '03A3 to begin) in .30-06 Springfield caliber and another Lee (whack) loader for it.

I feel everyone should being with such a loading device. It teaches all the steps of reloading and why it is done so, and it removes the 'several wild shoots in the sky' urge and method of marksmanship.

My late father had given me a RCBS Jr reloader prior. I found a place to mount it (concurrent to my first marriage) and thought I was in heaven.

Fast forward some forty-five years or so. And a bout of pistol shooting calling for more ammunition than I wanted to buy... so a Dillon progressive. I'm now retired and no longer have to out think as many villains as I used to think I did. My pistol work is nearly all defensive and the habits - muscle memory in these days - for that is seriously ingrained. I shoot in local events. Rifles are more my metier these days. So my reloading devices could easily be limited to a Dillion progressive and a rather stripped down 550 (marketed shortly as the AT 450 or something). The smaller machine loads test ammunition for load development and even runs of twenty or forty rounds of 'developed' rifle cartridges and the progressives are useful for 'production' of large quantities of a specific loading.
And, little by little, I'm paring down both my raw materials and my equipment.

I have far less money in presses (and none of them Smerf blue), but it looks like you're about an order of magnitude short on components. . . for a single cartridge.

Stop buying presses until you have 10 years of components stacked.

So true. I started in 1972 and would set up on the kitchen table when it wasn't being used. One of the true loves of my life.

I was kinda thinking whats wrong with people who dont reload?.... you get to keep playing with gun stuff even when your not at the range. You can only clean your guns so much.... but ammo... you can reload as much as you want.

Good price on that for sure. I love my 550.

I’m lucky, my wife has supported me in my reloading endeavors. Of course, she shoots, and has her own guns, so that helps.

I started out in a spare bedroom, my first press was a Dillon 550B. I had a mentor that got me started, and that is what he had. It was a great decision, it works very well for me, I do all my quantity semi-auto pistol calibers with it. I have three other presses on my bench, all Lee - Classic Turret, APP, and the small C press. I use the turret more than anything else.

I ended up getting a prefab 12x20 storage building, which I fully insulated, wired, and finished the interior myself. It is slam full now. I keep finding shiny new reloading gadgets I never knew I needed. It is all good, keeps me out of trouble.

I've been using a CH single stage and a RCBS single stage.
My supplies are multiplying like rabbits. My neighbor is going to help me start casting for 38 and 30 cal.
I'm supposed to be getting the entire loft in the 38x38 horse barn when I get it built this winter.
It will also hold all my hunting and camping gear.
