THR disclaimer - this is not a political thread.

I like my Glock 23/32 with the 13 round mag they were designed for, not a arbitrarily limited 10 round, its principle.
So, if there was a stupid, arbitrary (non-political) nationwide 10 round limit and no grandfathering, a couple of my pistol options originally designed for 10 rounds or less...
Ruger CMD lightweight and Glock 30SF in 45 acp
Glock 30SF shoots high for me with factory barrel, extended ported barrel shoots to my POA.

Another option, Ruger CMD lightweight 9mm

I've carried 1911's quite a bit in the past.
Shooting yesterday led to carrying, the slimness of a 1911 is appreciated IWB.
A 1911 IWB with two spare mags opposite to offset weight is a combo easily concealed.
No 10 round limit and I'm carrying a pistol designed for 10 rounds or less, by choice.

In this thread we do not carry pistols designed for more than 10 rounds with a 10 round mag.

I carried a G30 from the day they were first available for several years. I always loaded the 10 round mag with 9 and 1 in the pipe. I switched to a commander size 1911 in 45 a few years back and carry it with an 8 round mag with 7 and 1 in the pipe. I have never felt the need for carrying anything with more than 10 rounds for everyday self defense. High cap mags have their place in the world but not for me. While no one knows what situation may arise I try and use my head and avoid these types of people and situations...

Meant to add a picture, here it is:

I just bought a Glock 48 with no regrets, selling the G26 with G19 magazines. Most important was the G48 feels better, shoots better than the G26-For Me. Also a bit more comfy to carry since it’s thinner. This is NOT to say the G26 was ‘bad’ in any way. Just for ME, G48 better and 10+1 is fine. I don’t think raw capacity is the determiner, at least for me..otherwise I’d carry the G17, 17+1.
But, no ‘grandfather’ is a whole bunch of nothing. More than, put mag limit here, cannot be enforced. Millions of more than 10R mags ‘out there’. BUT, I am fine with 10+1(Glock48) and even 7+1 with Glock 42 when I carry that. I think those who move ‘towards’ trouble, military and LEO need more but not John Q Public.
But raw capacity has been marketeers main selling point for a long time.

I shoot mostly double stack handguns, simply because single stacks don't feel real nice. Can't legally carry one, so they are range toys for the most part anyway.

I bought 10rnd mags so I can bring my Glock 19 with me on a roadtrip to the west coast. I don’t think I’ll miss the extra 5 rounds.

I went this way over my revolvers because even at a reduced capacity its is faster to reload and lighter.

I've gone back to a full size 1911. Eight rounds in Wilson ETM magazines with one round chambered, two spare 8 round ETM's on the support side of my belt, and a third 8 round ETM in my front pants pocket in a clinger pouch. The higher capacity guns just stick out a little too much on my body, even when carried IWB. The slim profile of the 1911 works perfectly well for my rail thin build.

CDW4ME---Couldn't you have put a higher front sight on that Glock to get it to shoot lower with the factory barrel?

In such a hypothetical non political situation I would likely do much the same.

Probably something like the Dan Wesson ECP. 4" barrel for my eyes, lightweight for carry, bobtail for easy concealment. 9mm makes 10+1.

If I had to sell off my "illegal" guns or something stupid like that, I'd make it a Wilson, roundbutt instead of bobtail isn't as nice but workable.

Though, I suppose a 10 round mag for my EDCX9 is cheaper. or the X9s

I decide which gun to carry on how well it shoots for me and how well it works for what I want to do with it. When I am not carrying my duty gun or pocket carrying my off duty gun, I usually carry a SIG 229 or BERETTA 92 Compact. Both have 13 round magazines, but I have a number of 10 rounds bought new for $10.00 each after the assault riffle law expired. When I go to the range, I use them and sometimes just load them back up and carry them in the gun when I am driving around. I also have them to use if I go to a state which mandates 10 round mags.

I do not see the big problem with them. They work just as well and give me options that sticking with 13 or 15 or 17 or higher capacity mags do not.

To each his own!

Its got Trijicon HDs made for the Glock 30
On a 6 inch circle at 6-7 yards, if I held 6 o'clock it would hit in the center with the stock barrel; but, I detest 6 o'clock hold.
I can live with sight image two, but prefer three at 6-7 yards. (1st image is intolerable)

Aside from POA/POI the extended ported barrel reduces muzzle flip, follow up shots are quicker.
I like the Glock 30SF with the HDs and extended ported barrel, so that configuration is how it is staying.
I strongly prefer the grip on a 1911 versus the cut short frame/oversize base of the 30SF, so the Ruger is on my belt anyway.

My CC isn’t going to change, I can get a full hand grip on my Shields and at 25oz fully loaded they’re well within my comfort zone for daily toting.

I only have one pistol I've carried concealed that has a magazine capacity higher than 10 rounds and I only carried that one for a short period of time. Since then I've always carried less than 10, typically in a single column, hammer fired pistol.

Not to drift off thread but the only long gun I have that accepts external magazines is a .22 caliber rifle. I just never felt the need for higher capacity firearms.

Astonishingly, New York has a 7 round limit, and Kimber .45s hold exactly that. I parted with a Steyr that was never imported with a full-cap mags.
Wouldn't think of justifying limiting mag capacity, but my carry stuff maxes out at 10.

My Walther PPS-M2 with 8 round accessory mags is a reliable and accurate shooting pistol that carries very nicely. I think these factors should be the main criteria for a CCW. If I need more capacity I don’t need to change guns when I can carry 1 or 2 extra magazines.

Well I'm in violation here I guess.
Have both a glock 43x and 48MOS. I use the Shield 15 round steel magazines in both with perfect function.
Need to convert the polymer magazine release to their steel version.

I have 10-round designed pistols quite suitable for carry, including G48, G26, and XD45C, similar to the G30 but heavier.

I have many options.

But playing by your rules.

I guess I would carry either the G-26.[ also custom done grips ].

Or the custom G-30S that I had done to reduce further the grip.

I see no reason to lug around a heavy gun that is designed to hold 15/17/18 and feed it 10 round mags. The thought of it irritates me. It's like putting a V6 in a car that offers a Hemi. I get you gotta do what you gotta do, but having thought of this non-political hypothetical myself, I have elected to carry a full size 1911 on those rare times that I dont go with a pocket gun.
