A 9MM 1911 meets your specifications. Mine is 10+1 and runs really nice. Various makers make them too, withprices running from 500-2000+ dollars.

It misses the "light" part quite a bit though. Mine weighs 2 oz. more than it's 45 caliber brother due to the smaller bore. I really like mine but wouldn't want to have it hanging on my side all day.

Enjoy your Glock! The P225-A1 would have been my choice, or better yet a P6 if you could have found a nice German police trade in. I had both, but they are big guns for holding 8 rounds of 9mm! I sold them and went with a nice P228 and P226 Legion instead, for just a bit more money.

Beretta Brigadier. They can be found fairly inexpensively, single stack, about a 4.5" barrel, IIRC.

The penultimate gun as you describe, at least to me, is a Lightweight Commander in 9mm.
I thought the Beretta Brigadier was just an upgraded 92FS ?

Guess it depends on your definition of "light", my CCO clocks in at 36 oz with a 9 round Wilson mag and one in the pipe. Sure, that's 4oz heavier than a fully loaded Glock 19 but not a huge burden, IMO.

Edit: er, 6 oz more than the Glock. Mine is 32 with the WML. Either way, I found the CCO easy to carry all day.

My definition of light has changed a bunch over the years. Trust me on this, your's will too.

Oh I'm sure it will, just this year my back has decided that a 226 is no longer a good option for EDC (or a steel 1911 for that matter).

The Beretta M1951/M951 was called the Brigadier. It was a single column pistol. It isn't made anymore, but is probably what entropy was referring to and not a 92/96 Brigadier.

Like JTQ said, I meant the M1952 Brigadier. The surplus outlets have some @$275 IIRC. It is a single stack pistol. The Egyptians coped it as the "Helwan". The M92 seires replacd the M1952.

Congrats on the G48; hard to go wrong with a Glock.

On the civilian market, the pistol is known as the M951 "Brigadier."
It is common/historical product name in the Beretta line-up.

P225A1.

I had P6 I really liked.

Either is a really nice option. Both discontinued but easy to find.

Colt Wiley Clapp LW commander in 9mm.

My favorite. I carry the .45 version but looking for a 9.

I prefer metal so I would go with one of these three.

YMMV.

Yeah, full size 1911 definitely does not meet the weight requirement. I have a Springfield TRP, never carry it, love to shoot it. If war breaks out, I'll carry it then.

lots of good suggestions. I would say the Kahr target version. I have a good bit of experience with the beretta 1951/Helwan. They are not too bad but they have some weaknesses that become apparant after lots of shooting.

If you can handle single action You might want to check out 9mm tokarev. They are very thin and the design is robust. They also handle like a full size and carry like a CCW weapon.

You also have some forgotten gems like the Astra a70 and A75 that are a little smaller. If you have the money HKp9 and P7M8 are pretty legendary but the prices are silly because they are HK.

A lot of the others have already been said. My single stack 9mm for carry is mainly a Norinco Tokarev that I reworked to my satifaction. I have poored thousands and thousands of rounds through it over the years. Everything from cheap steel case to high end self defense ammo. Its not picky.

Get on the back order list with Shield Arms for some S15 magazines and one of their aluminum magazine catches.

My experience with the back order list went something like this..... Clicked the purchase button....went to bed...woke up to email saying they were shipping that day...received in a few days.... Excellent experience. Buy the aluminum mag release too. Super easy to install.

You might want to at least take a look at the Sig P365XL. It's a double-stack, but pretty thin. 13-rounds. I might give up one of my compact singles for one.
