What's your ultimate firearm related fantasy ... and is it attainable?

I’ll have to find a good firearm savvy lawyer (USCCA type) to help with the liability issues.

That’s the dream...

Absolutely! But March of which future year will depend on when my lottery number comes up...

I've always loved the idea of my very own gun vault/room. With the racks for the rifles, and the shelves/drawers for the ammo, etc.
Land is on my goal list and once my AF Reserve Retirement pension kicks in a few months from now, I will start building up the savings for the down payment. I'll then set to find a suitable plot. I want to find something within a 4-5 hour drive from South East Florida so that I can get to it for a weekend. I would like 20-40 acres.

On the gun vault, prior to my marriage, I was planning an addition/remodel on my old house and I had the architect add an interior bedroom that was going to be a "safe" room. All four walls and ceiling reinforced concrete with an opening for one of the vault doors. But, the real state market crashed and then later I got married and sold the house.

Not a fantasy any longer; have been looking hard at acreage in Idaho, Arkansas and Tennessee. I'll live in a single-wide if I have to until I get my retirement home built, but I'm gonna have property I can shoot on, whenever I want.

Also love the concept of an entire room as a gun vault.

I had been looking at getting 20 or so acres near Terlingua, Texas, but it's just too long of a run from home and I don't think that I'd want to live there long-term.
It's beautiful and the shooting is good and the hunting is fair if you have water, but I've already done that.

Attainable but improbable.

A 2 bedroom 1 bath log cabin on 100 acres in Montana. I want to rely on outside electricity as least as I can, so a solar panel setup behind the cabin so I don't have to see it when I walk outside. I want the cabin to have a rustic and warm atmosphere. I also want a music system setup in the kitchen to go off at 6:30 AM so when I get up to make coffee I can be greeted with Buck Owens and The Buckaroos. I want a wall mounted gun rack next to the front door, in that rack I want the firearms as follows:
Winchester Model 70 Super Grade Maple chambered in .270 Winchester topped off with a Leupold VX-3i 1.5-5x20mm on DD 1-in Low rings and DD Winchester 70 RVF 2-pc bases.
Kimber Mountain Ascent chambered in .270 Winchester topped off with a Leupold VX-3i 1.5-5x20mm on BackCountry Cross-Slot 1" Low Rings, Matte rings and BackCountry Cross-Slot Kimber 84L 1-pc bases.

If I work hard enough and save my dollars then yes it is possible.

right now it would probably be to buy back every gun i had to sell 3 years ago. or at least, the same make/model. some would definitely take time to find again. i dont make what i used to so this is far more difficult then it was the first go around.

@ Harry - a couple I went to high school with back in the 1960s, moved to a place in South Dakota about 7 or 8 years ago when he retired from IBM.
Instead of solar - they put in a windmill. Since it can run all the time and generate electricity even at night, they can sell enough back to the electric company to carry a surplus.
Something to consider.

As far as the fantasy - it's funny - my lifelong fantasy was to buy a Thompson 1928A1 - the only roadblock was the price - about $10k for as long as I could remember.
Then a funny thing happened about 20 years ago - when my wife paid off the house & both of use were still working. All of a sudden, I could afford one!
Just that fast - my desire for one vanished.

That's a tough one since I think you said "ultimate".

One thing that comes to mind would be to have a black powder mortar and a great big lake with floating targets in it. When I didnt hit the targets I'd still get to enjoy great big splooshes!

Mine is multiple parts some which may not be attainable some that might be


First I want to be able to carry in all 50 states with my CCW (I’d prefer Constitutional carry but I think everyone needs at bare minimum 8 hours of hands in training to carry a gun)

Second repeal the nfa and every gun law on the books and start from scratch with knowledgeable people from both sides working on good laws

Third enough components to make all the ammo I want for the rest of my life


Fourth Probably the most important I win the lotto so I have all the free time to shoot when I want!

Fifth I want a secure shop reloading area plus gun vault


Yeah I’d be happy with any or all of those!

I want a time machine to take all of history famous or infamous guns and blades, I want Patton and Villas revolvers and Jim Bowies knife

Having set up people off the grid, I have some practical considerations for you.

On a hundred acres there's no "behind" the cabin, unless you are hard up against a road or property edge or geologic feature (which becomes something you will want to view).

Latitude and load are hugely important to how large an array you need. In South Texas, with 200 days of sunshine, 98% off grid runs to 10-12 panels. You need a semi-conditioned shed to contain the rack of batteries DC systems really require to feed the inverter.
The note above about adding a wind generator is also hugely apt, too. Many can get by on 1m or 2m turbines (2m can use a shorter mast). The wind generator also needs a bank of batteries, but, those can be shared. Nicely, the inverters generate a lot of heat, which will keep the batteries from freezing; usually it's having to dump that heat which is the issue.

Using porch roofs and creating breezeways is typically the best way to integrate the "power shed" in scenic settings. Adding in deck spaces is also good for allowing for rainwater sequestration, too. (More of an issue in S.Texas than in Montana.)

Well, the consecutive serial # probably is out of the question, but Baby Nambu's are not hard to find, just expensive. The R.I.A. co usually has a couple (or more) in every premium auction. They usually go for mid to high four figures. This one was probably never fired. It is in the Arsenal museum, complete with two magazines and the original holster

I used to like Alan Jackson, Tracy Lawrence, Clint Black, and Neo Traditional Country in general, but my tastes have evolved to the oldie goldies.

I'll take Johnny, Buck, Dwight, Hag, Waylon, and my all-time favorite patriot, Christian, Charlie Daniels (may he r.i.p.)
I had a chance meeting with him one time in Owensboro, KY. We chatted about quail hunting for a few precious minutes, i bought his coffee.

We already had tickets bought to see him again, but he passed months before the concert.

*oh forgot to mention a 1,000 yard range would be nice!

I would start with a full auto Sig SG 550 current issue rifle, and a 300 yd underground shooting range.
